Re: windows xp on dv5t - all drivers installed
I have no luck at all getting my remote to work on my dv5-1124ca in windows XP . Not a single button works. I tried the drivers on page 1 , has i did with many other drivers, and nothing. But i found those drivers here :
I can't post URLs because of my low post count , so decypher this :
wwwDOTversiontrackerDOTcom/dyn/moreinfo/win/163230
there is a winxp32 folder inside , and when i run dpinst , it installs and then detects more hardware , keyboards and other HID , which i then forced to what is installed on vista if i recover.
So i'm wondering if the people who have partial success , will have better success with the xp drivers instead of the vista drivers..
Check it out and let me know, Can`t get that darn remote to work in xp at all .. but my xbox 360 recognizes it no problem.

Re: windows xp on dv5t - all drivers installed
I recently installed XP x64 SP2 on my dv5t. Here are some notes for people that are using x64 since I didn't see alot of posts related to that.
First my hardware:
Intel 4500HDE
Broadcom B/G wireless
Broadcom Bluetooth by HP
Realtek RTL8102E/8203E
Realtek Card Reader
The Intel chipset and video drivers I downloaded from Intel's website and they're working fine. The HDMI audio required a separate driver which was in the \WDM\WinXP\ folder from the audio driver supplied by HP. I haven't tested out if HDMI audio works because I have never used it before in XP and I'm not sure how to enable it.
HP's Vista Broadcom wireless driver didn't work both when manually installing the .inf and running setup. Windows update installed a driver for me and it's working.
I used Realtek's XP driver for my NIC located on their software page. Works.
HP's Bluetooth installer wouldn't load, but DPInst.exe installs fine as mentioned in the guide.
The Realtek card reader was already installed when booting into Windows. However when discsonnecting an SD card, an exclamation point showed up next to USB Mass Storage Device under USB Controllers. I updated that device with the drivers found on Realtek's website and it's working well now. Shows up as Realtek Card Reader (0158).
One difference I noticed between XP and Vista that I am not liking: CPUID Hardware Monitor is showing 57C degree CPU temp while IDLE. In Vista it was much much lower, maybe low 40's if I remember correctly. Also, the left side of the laptop is much warmer than when in Vista, which was always cool to the touch when idle. If I can't figure this out I might go back to Vista with vLite. Seems like a lack of proper power management on XP's side, and without drivers by HP it seems like this issue won't be fixed. Anyone else having the same issue?
Haven't tested the remote driver yet.

Re: windows xp on dv5t - all drivers installed
Red light Mute button fixed!
1. Make sure that Audio Service (stacsv.exe) works.
2. Find CLSID of your audio driver in your XP system:
- regedit
- F3
- Find "AllowHpOnNonSupportingPin"
- Remember founded registry path like as HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{xxx}\00yy\Settings]
3. Create reg file:
4. Change {xxx}\00yy\ in this file to your path part (see step 2).Code:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{xxx}\00yy\Settings] "Installed"=hex:01 "CPL_SaveExtraPower"=hex:01 "CPL_SecondsAfter"=dword:00000010 "CPL_MaySwitchExtAmpPowerState"=hex:01 "AfgPowerStatePolicy"=hex:02 "CPL_ControlAfgPowerState"=hex:01 "CPL_SpdifTransmitterEnabledByUser"=hex:00 "CPL_FixedDigitalOutRate"=dword:00000000 "PmEnabledWidget"=hex:0a,0b,0c,0d,0e,0f "EnablePcBeepAtCd"=hex:01 "PlaybackCaptureAssociations"=hex:51 "KeepAnalogLoopbackAlwaysOn"=hex:01 "DelayInMsAfterPortDisabling"=dword:00000040 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{xxx}\00yy\Settings\GPIO] "03"=hex:c2 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IDT\Config\StacSV] "MuteGPIOIndicator"=dword:00000103
5. Save file
6. Add this file to registry.
7. Reboot
8. Enjoy
PS: Sorry for bad english

Re: windows xp on dv5t - all drivers installed
Added as per your reg file and replaced {xxx}\00yy\ with those found in step 2. The entries did not solved the "mute" light problem.

Re: windows xp on dv5t - all drivers installed
Doesn't work for me either on my dv5 1124ca.
Maybe we need more keys? Has anyone else got this to work? Maybe we are not using the same audio drivers or quicklaunch buttons version?

Re: windows xp on dv5t - all drivers installed
Sweet! XP Pro installed on my HP dv5t-CTO.
Everything works except for the orange "mute" button which I don't care about. As long as all things work!
No "yellow" questions marks on device manager...everything recognized!
