Does anyone know if SimplePass 7.x works with the dv7t-2000? I tried installing it and it wouldnt detect the reader for some reason (i hear it will have support for firefox 6 soon).

Re: *HP dv7t (1XXX series) Owners Lounge*
Long story short, my pc gave me the dreaded blinking lights, 4 for GPU failure. I really freaked out cuz I don't have the money to get a new one. It came out to be a failed memory stick...good enough reason to spend a couple of bucks on a 4gb stick now...as soon as I get paid...
$40 is better than spending over $1K on a new one.

Take a look here - [Drivers] HP dv5-1XXX (INTEL)
The thread contains newer drivers that should be compatible with your model, except for the BIOS (which is for the dv5-1XXX only).Pavilion dv6-7014nr (modified) / TouchPad 32GB

Re: *HP dv7t (1XXX series) Owners Lounge*
Hi! I've a DV7-1000 series which has a 480365-001 mobo. I've tried to replace the P7350 with a Q9100 but the laptop doesn't starts at all. Which mobo do you have? Do you know if my mobo supports a quad core CPU? Looking at the chipset (PM45) and socket (Socket P) seems that it does. The Q9100 seller stated that the CPU is correctly working but I'm not 100% sure about this. So I would be sure that my mobo can actually run this CPU before I can ask for a CPU replacement.

Shall I add an SSD? or go with 8 GB RAM? (from 6GB) to perk up dv7t?
Hi again,
SSD ? or 8 GB of RAM to perk up my dv7t? I've got 6 GB now, it's a little slow to save files, open new pages, etc., when I'm browsing with 100 tabs open or running a few programs. I'm running the same 4 programs every day Chrome/Excel/itunes/Photoshop/(netflix/youtube). I'm not concerned with start -up time/speed.
Please feel free to recommend specific models/brands if you reply, thanks!
Otherwise I'm very happy. It's plenty fast, but faster would be great. I've had my dv7t for 8 months and my only complaint is the clacky mouse buttons, soft numpad, and I would love curved keys (& backlit keyboard). Lenovo's are where it's at for my preference, but no great options there for entertainment laptop. Now have 6 G ram, i5 2410. I'm not worried about gaming but music and Photoshop yes. I have the 1080 p screen and I'm grateful for it every time I look at it.
Thank You from 9,200 ft.

Re: *HP dv7t (1XXX series) Owners Lounge*
Looking for the latest valid IDT audio driver, advice appreciated, for my dv7t-cto1000 (win 7 sp1 32 bit).
I currently have the latest from the HP website, which is Version:6.10.6207.0 A
FWIW, the "hardware ID" reported in Device Manager under this driver is HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_76B2&SUBSYS_103C30F4
I suspect there may be a more current version that I'd like to try to clear up audio issues, but don't know what to do beyond the HP website offering.
What is the latest version that anyone is using that seems to work well for people with the same hardware and OS as me, and where can I get a copy? Or if you don't have a later and greater version, where can I go to try to find a valid updated version, other than the HP website?
Thanks in advance!
