No posting of personal information, phone numbers etc,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Sorry, it was an Envy 14 that they had success with.
The Envy 17-3000 was a SEMI brick, it was recovered.
There is a post for a bios mod for the Envy 17-3200, it hasn't happened as of yet.
But you can call the contact at HP that I posted and ask him to do a bios mod as well, you would have to PM me for that information.

Leshcat updated his drivers, there is another HP fix included.

    Minor Changelog:

    - Wake up Back light issues on newest Intel driver should now be fixed for most (BUT NOT ALL) models.
    - Updates in menu: “HP Issue Resolver”.
    - Added option to change TDRLevel to Zero.
    - HP Envy products should no longer suffer from blank screen issue on start up.
    - Other minor config fixes for other models.

Catalyst 12.x Jun12 UnifL (Rel/UP1) for Hybrid Graphics

I found another possible fix, its from the Guru3D.com site.
It has the new AMD Catalyst 12.x (9.00 June 12) Unofficial BETA, Support for Win 7 and 8
This leads me to believe that the Intel HD 4000 is a W8 component.
We might have to BUY W8 to get this thing going.

CCC includes the switching and HD 4000 driver.

DL link: AMD Catalyst 12.x (9.00 June 12) Unofficial BETA download from Guru3D.com

These drivers have a new wireless display mode, maybe the switching is fixed?
    Who's the first to try?

Have you tried this download on your computer, if so, are you using the Envy 17 3D-3200?
Does it work? for I have not had any luck with Leshcat's software - not saying they don't work.

Leshcat UPDATED his drivers, don't try them if you don't want to.
Have you submitted a support ticket to Leshcat for a fix?
    I sent my 17-3090NR 3D back for a defect, I'm WAITING for a 17-3290NR 3D REPLACEMENT!

Unless you try, there will never be a fix, so everyone sits on the fence and waits for the easy fix, it wont happen.
