As for AHCI I owned the 3D model about a month ago, and I am fairly sure it was not running in AHCI mode but I wont be sure about that until I receive my replacement laptop on monday.
It appears it is. In device manager for the hybrid drive, on the details tab under "power data" I see S0-S5 listed..

What about under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers in the device manager. If its AHCI it will say so in the device under the IDE/ATAPI header. I remember it was using standard IDE driver rather than "Intel Chipset SATA AHCI Controler".
    Still looking...

Angry Re: Possible Fix For The HD 4000 Switching And WiDi Issue..

OK, I sooooo shouldn't do this.
I've known this information for quite some time now, I just cant get anywhere with this issue, you haven't either.
I'm dropping the ball on this matter.
One of the guys that's responsible for the problems with the 3D version,,,,,,
I know his name, I know his work location and the phone number.
He's a senior HP employee, with Bios programing certification, C, C#, C++ as well as others, 9 in total.
His official job is: Manager, Systems Software Engineering, Global Quality Control, Research And Development.
Hes been doing the job for 24 years.
He is a graduate of Texas A&M University.
He is a member of the Texas A&M Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering Industrial Affiliates.
He works at Hewlett Packard Co, 11445 Compaq Center West Dr. Houston TX. 77070

    You get the idea,
Lazy, old, fat and sits behind a big desk, delegating tasks to his minions, with a great big pension that you paid for, and you got a broken product.

    His name is {content removed}.
His phone number at HP is {content removed}.

You can find his home number by doing some creative Googleing, its there, just gotta look for it.
I would highly suggest that you use it if he fails to return calls or blows you off.
