Just finished playing Battlefield 3 for about 5 hours straight (Short snack and bathroom breaks). CPU was up to 84°C while playing, then dropped down to 48°C within 10 seconds of me quitting the game. I was playing Conquest Large online on a full server of 64 players as infantry, tanks, helicopters and jets (so a lot of extra input) over wifi with a ping of 39ms. No lag, playing on Ultra at all. I still havent installed FRAPS, but the gameplay is more than playable.

For some reason i can't get Ignition 3D to work with Battlefield 3, i went on their website and it said "[Beta]", next to it in the list of supported games. Assassins Creed Revelations is AWESOME.

ASDW keys never got uncomfortably warm, and neither did the right palm rest (Over my hybrid drive). The back right of the laptop however was HOT to the touch; thank God there's no keys over there.

Playing with headphones in, audio is amazing, just pure awesome. The enhancement of the game's sounds really immerses you in the combat.

That's all for now folks! Stay tuned...
Just what I wanted to here. I pulled the trigger for an Envy 17 a few days ago. Really excited about this! And I think I may have found a winner..I went through the M14X, DV6t, and the Y580. I'm too anal about chassis feel and build.

Here is Just Cause 2 on High Settings. Gameplay was really smooth around 45-60FPS... Without Fraps recording...

Nice! All games seriously need a benchmark mode. What were the frame rates when you weren't recording? In BF3 I have vsync on and the screen locked at only 60Hz

Not exactly, but I'm the one who imaged my first gen Envy 17 3D into this one. Everything works except this, so I can live with it if need be. I did install all the 32XXX drivers. From what I've read with other people having similar problems with other HPs I'll see if a future update fixes things. My BIOS is inexplicably the F.05 not F.06 (and hasn't upgraded), so maybe that plays a role with the video driver.

    Thanks for the help.

I thought yours was on the same shipment as mine? It appears there was at least two pallets. One that went to Memphis and one that went to Indianapolis, may be more. The Indianapolis pallet hit at about 1:43 am 7/5 but didn't update till this morning. I was waiting last night for a compiler to end so i found the fedx flight and watched it fly from Canada to indy. If in your tracking detail at fedx, you see "Departed FedX location", that is the actual time the plane Took off or the truck pulled off the lot. You Can go to flight tracker and pull up Fedx flights by time and location. Mine hit the fedex hub, went on to a fedx satelite, and now siteseeing on a truck. Hopefully yours will update with good info.

So BF3 plays well on this machine? I am looking forward to it when I get mine in a week or two. Can everything be maxed out and still playable without lag or do some of the settings need to be turned down?

Apparently i'm on the Memphis pallet and it's been sitting there since 12:53 AM. The estimated delivery date hasn't changed (still reads today by 4:30pm) but unless Santa Claus is working for fed ex this ain't going to happen. I'm thinking may be tomorrow but most likely Monday. I'm just outside Washington, DC.

For some of you guys that said you wanted a multi 3D display here is a special. I didn't review the specs other than its a HP 23" 3D 1920 x 1080 60hz With two pairs of FPR 3D glasses , new 1 year warranty for $179. It's a WOOT thing.
