Re: COMING SOON: ENVY 4 and ENVY 6 Notebooks
Let's hope they downclock the GPU like they did to the HD 5650 two years ago!
Acer 4820TG - i5-480m, HD 5650 - $675 - two and half years old, starting to feel old, maybe just need an SSD
Possible upgrades - LG 900p screen, Momentus XT
Next laptop (2013?): 14" 900p screen, BR-RW, ATI 8xxx series dGPU w/ 2GB GDDR6 ram, 6-core AMD or Haswell, 8GB DDR4 ram, 1 TB SSD, 6 MP 1080p webcam, Lightpeak + USB 3.0, 16 hrs battery, <4 lbs

Re: COMING SOON: ENVY 4 and ENVY 6 Notebooks
If the Envy 6 is a 15.6" like the current Envy 15, then I'd say 50% - the vocal minority is upset about the color issue so that motivates them to get a different panel, but the silent masses just accept it as far as HP knows or cares. If it costs them more to change the panel, it becomes a tricky decision.
However, if the Envy 4 is a 14 incher, they'll be using a different panel in all likelihood, maybe not even IPS, so I wouldn't expect the same issue to occur there.
By "these laptops" I assume you mean the current-generation Envy 15 and 17? The Envy 4 and Envy 6 haven't even been officially announced as far as I know, there have just been some model numbers dug up to imply their forthcoming existence.
Sad face. That's been my biggest gripe with my Envy 14. Well, that and the fan grinding that started several months ago, primarily when running on battery power. If it's a 14 with any gaming capability at all, let's hope that it's 28 nm and runs at stock clocks rather than being a refreshed 40 nm card and/or gimped by the manufacturer. It wasn't just that the 5650m in the Envy 14 was gimped, but the cards themselves were lower quality, so half of the owners who tried overclocking couldn't even reach stock clocks without artifacting.Old - Inspiron 1420 - T7500, 8400M GS, 3GB DDR2, 250GB 5400 RPM, Win 7 HP 64
"Manny Calavera" - Envy 14 - i5-450m, 5650M, 8GB DDR3, 160GB Intel X-25M SSD, Win 7 HP x64, Radiance Display, Slice Battery
Desktop - i5-3450, MSI Radeon HD7850 Hawk, 8 GB Kingston HyperX Blue, 128GB Samsung 830 SSD, 2TB WD Caviar Green HDD, CoolerMaster Elite 120 ITX case, AsRock H77M-ITX, CoolerMaster Silent M2 420W, Samsung Blu-Ray reader

Re: COMING SOON: ENVY 4 and ENVY 6 Notebooks
I think there is an update coming soon.
On the HP store page, if you click on Laptops -> Envy, it says "We're sorry, the page requested was not found"

i also hope for the best for this model. especially hp envy 6. they have numpad, 4 usb port(2 usb 2.0 and 2 usb 3.0) and backlit keyboard and the envy class will use nvidia as main graphic card. =)
