Re: UPDATED (WITH VIDEOS): ENVY 4 / ENVY 6 Now Available; ENVY 13 SPECTRE XT Announced
The spectre would of been good if it had a better screen res, maybe it will give an option when its released.
Edit:
Went through all the specs of the notebook HP announced today, they all have low-res screen.Last edited by CompUG; 9th May 2012 at 06:27 PM.

Re: UPDATED (WITH VIDEOS): ENVY 4 / ENVY 6 Now Available; ENVY 13 SPECTRE XT Announced
I didnt compare them with the envy 4/6. I only compared them to the main envy line excluding the envy 17 since its way out of what the envy 15 and then 14 came for. Just answered the question that a guy compared the envy 15 gen 1 to the envy 4/6

And yes I do find the envy 4t quite interesting, basically it has some gpu power and the enough cpu power with the ulv offerings, for me at least

Re: UPDATED (WITH VIDEOS): ENVY 4 / ENVY 6 Now Available; ENVY 13 SPECTRE XT Announced
The newly-designed HP site calls the 4t the "HP Pavilion Envy 4" - that's a bit of a laugh. It's like they realized too late that the Envy name is too good for it so they're trying to call it a Pavilion as well...
The CTO page tells a lot about how non-premium the Envy 4 and 6 series are - they tell you they're doing you a favor with a free upgrade from 2 GB DDR3 to 4 GB, which has been standard on pretty much all laptops for 3 years now; then they do the same with a 5400 RPM 320 GB HDD to a 5400 RPM 500 GB HDD, while not offering anything bigger or faster, then there's the lack of a better screen, and the fact that these are the first "Envy" laptops that I can remember that don't ship with free Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements. It all points to a product that's non-premium in every way, which is fine by me, but don't call it an Envy.Old - Inspiron 1420 - T7500, 8400M GS, 3GB DDR2, 250GB 5400 RPM, Win 7 HP 64

anandtech article
Sorry to spam this in three threads but its a good read and relevant to each one.
Screen Res options have really killed it. I mean, the HD4k can push a higher display better. We need Radiance Plus and not Bright view revivals.HP Envy 14 Spectre, Sumsung Series 7 Slate, MBA 11 i7", Macbook pro 15" 2820 HDAG 8gig 1600mhz ddr3, HP Envy i7 Radiance

Do you think the Envy 4 and 6's don't have the HI-RES screen because HP is working on the original Envy RED/ORANGE issue????

Also a higher res screen means more work for the video card, which means less battery life.

The design of these new Pavilion-branded "ENVY" books actually looks like a slimmed down DV6-6000 series. Same speaker grill type, same keyboard design and the brushed metal pamrest.
