Re: ENVY 15 with IPS screen
I'm keeping mine but exchanging the one I received because of cosmetic issues; raised trackpad, scratch by the trackpad, plastic already peeling under the bezel by the hinge.

Re: ENVY 15 with IPS screen
Nice, are you having any other issues with the screen such as the color purple and violet lacking? According to Lvivkse his screen lacks violet and purple

Re: ENVY 15 with IPS screen
I'm waffling on this but voted returning. If I return it, I want to try out a 17...
Outside of the colors I really love this thing, and every aspect is an upgrade over my 14...Apple Macbook Pro Retina <3

Re: ENVY 15 with IPS screen
The reds looks red and the violets look violet to me. I've noticed some shades of red do look a little more orange on the screen and you can say the same for violet, but you really don't notice it until you compare it to another monitor. Overall it's not a dealbreaker for me, and I still think the screen looks better than the 17.

Re: ENVY 15 with IPS screen
Checked my friend who is professional in TV development and color setting.
Do not worry about the panel, in fact for different panel vendor, they will have slight different color setting(different color profiles and/or brightness/contrast settings), some will adjust to warm color style(you will feel dark), some panel vendor will adjust to cold style, will make your panel more bright and appear light color.
If you put 10 different vendor panel, differnent panel will show differnt color style, there is no serious standard on color setting. Even for same panel vendor, may show different color if different batch products.
And, this is not HW limitation, can be fixed by BIOS update if do VBIOS color profile adjustment.
