You do realize I was being facetious.

Anyone having trouble with the beats audio thing? When ever I pause music and then play it again I cant increase the sounds without going to the beats menu when you press the button.

Does HP often refresh HP line? Is there possibility that HP will refresh Envy as soon as Ivy Bridge come?

You bet they will. In addition to performance gains, Ivy Bridge will bring about better battery life and less heat generation. So laptops are expected to get thinner and lighter. Also keep in mind that Windows 8 will be released by autumn. So unless you absolutely need a laptop now, waiting for a few months will get you better technology.
Even if you want a laptop at this moment, why would you want this Envy with all its build problems?

    PROBLEMS WITH BEAT

    1. I go on to youtube and listen to aviici, I had mute on
    2. I press mute button to unmute and then I can't no longer increase volume unless i switch webpages
    3. Pause music but mute won't go on when I press mute until I switch pages.

i've only used my envy for the past couple of days, and while i think it's seems like a pretty awesome laptop, the battery life is terrible.

I can live with the orange tint, the battery life I can't. My old macbook pro held a better charge than this. From what i've been reading you can get almost 8 hours of battery life but that's if you let it idle. Granted I'm watching my slingbox and i'm on a quad core, but i would be expecting a better battery life.

Undecided if I'm going to return this yet because I really like this laptop.

    Hey spammedsushi,

How is the keyboard experience; flex, any words missing while typing etc? Is the flex on yours as bad as I found in Fry's store...check out it this video:
HP Envy 15 - Keyboard flex (late 2011 model) - YouTube

Also, do you experience any Beats audio issue similar to what 'CompUG' posted above your post.

    thanks.

    Hi all,

I've been quietly reading all the pages of this owners' lounge for a while now. Like some of you, I think that the Envy 15 looks like an impressive device and I'm seriously considering making the purchase (I'm one click away!). However, the screen issue has been bothering me (I'm sure many of you think the same).

So today I chatted with HP about the screen issue (and another warranty question), and the agent (Betty) pretty much said that the screen issue is a "rumor", see below for direct quote from my chat:

01/15/2012 04:47:27PM Joanna Wong: "Its specs is one of the most impressive at this size and weight right now. Also, I've heard that the Envy 15's 1080p screen has some issue with displaying accurate red color, do you know if there is a plan to fix this?"
01/15/2012 04:48:14PM Agent (Betty): "I apologize for that rumor."
01/15/2012 04:49:03PM Agent (Betty): "I am sure that one of our technicians can help you resolve it."
01/15/2012 04:49:14PM Joanna Wong: "I've seen pictures on forums showing the disparity between the Envy 15's inability to show true red comparing to other TV/laptops"
01/15/2012 04:49:26PM Agent (Betty): "They can even answer your last question."
01/15/2012 04:49:43PM Agent (Betty): "You still made the right choice! We are actually receiving a lot of positive reviews on this model’s cool performance and capabilities."
01/15/2012 04:50:04PM Joanna Wong: "Of course for paying $2,000 for a high end laptop I would like to have the display be at least able to display the correct color"
01/15/2012 04:50:24PM Joanna Wong: "Other than this worry, I think the Envy 15 seems like a perfect system (sans having a Blu Ray drive)"
01/15/2012 04:50:32PM Agent (Betty): "I understand your concern."
01/15/2012 04:50:43PM Agent (Betty): "Please view the link below for your reference."
    01/15/2012 04:51:05PM Agent (Betty) sends page: "http://www.shopping.hp.com/series/category/notebooks/ENVY15_series/3/computer_store?"
01/15/2012 04:52:05PM Agent (Betty): "The selling point of it is the Intel's Turbo Boost Technology, which automatically speeds up the system when the PC needs extra performance."

She then goes on to sell the extended warranty on the device. Although I've tried to bring the subject back to the screen several times, she consistently ignored me on the subject.

Hope this helps with anyone who's looking for prove that HP is aware (however, ignoring) the screen problem.
