Re: *HP ENVY 15 (3XXX series) Owners Lounge*
On a positive note, thanks to the help from gunny5821 and mrzieman, I called to order the quick-ship ENVY 15 at 3pm Tuesday, it shipped at 11pm and it will arrive Thursday. Which is great because I will still have the VAIO S Series 15.5 that I'm sending back.
The reason I called HP to place the order is because I wanted to see if there was any kind of discount available on the quick-ship ENVY 15 like the 33% off NBJ7558 coupon for the customized ENVY 15. And the saleswoman was very kind and was able to reduce the quick-ship price from $1299.99 to 1195.99 with a $104 education discount since I have one daughter still in college who sometimes uses my laptop.
So my experience ordering the ENVY 15 has been very positive. And I'm anxious to compare the ENVY 15 to the VAIO S Series 15.5. Right now I think the ENVY 15 color situation will pale in comparison to the plastic feel and tinny sound of the VAIO S Series 15.5. I will post my thoughts after the ENVY 15 arrives.

Well, it is no doubt richer when you look at the 15 next to the 17, unfortunately richer doesn't equal more accurate...
I hooked up the 15 with my Dell U2410 calibrated monitor last night, and outside the ridiculously orange reds on the 15's screen compared to the Dell, the 15's monitor is great in every other way.
I agree with the other poster that HP will not do anything about it until the next refresh (if then), and that offering a full refund, and apparently in some cases a generous credit if it's kept, is more than fair. It's just frustrating that they designed this great machine with a major flaw.
What I'm more annoyed about is the editing of reviews on their website, including mine.
