I've been playing around with these drivers a bit more, to try and establish what needs to be done to get these to install.

    @pstils, n00bs, wild05kid05

    Pre-requisites

    1. Install
HP ATI Mobility HD4830 8.712 Drivers (sp48427) - ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48247.exe - New drivers will not install without this! I got BSODs trying to install 11.10 without having this first

    New Driver Installation Procedure

    2. Download
    - Drivers
    ATI Catalyst 11.10 Preview 2 - Catalyst 11.10 B2 Preview Win Vista 7 32 and 64-bit download from Guru3D.com

    - Modded INFs
by wild05kid05 - Modded INFs with edits

Extract both and overwrite contents of ati driver folder (default location is C:\AMD\AMD_Catalyst_11.10_preview2_Win7_Vista) with contents of modded INF.

Install via control panel>device manager>display adapters...
Right click on ATI Mobility Radeon HD4830 Series and select "update drivers'
select browse my computer for driver software
select 'let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'
    select 'have disk'
    select 'browse'
then browse to the location of the modded inf files (default location is C:\AMD\AMD_Catalyst_11.10_preview2_Win7_Vista\Packages\Drivers\Display\W76A_INF) and select CH126548.inf
    select 'ok'
select the first option 'ATI Mobility Radeon HD4830 Series'
    hit 'next'
driver should install, screen goes blank and comes back with aero enabled

N.B. So you definitely need the original HP drivers but you do not need to use DSEO

A few pictures and i think we have a decent guide!

INF edit files seems to be missing and download link is down.
PLEASE reupload to another uploader sites.

    Hi Guys,

I tried this yesterday. I've produced a process flow that makes the whole thing simpler as I found the original instructions difficult to follow. I'm using the 12.6 catalyst driver with the 12.3INF and it's excellent.
