Hmm. My video freezes up for a fraction of a second, then keeps playing. Using VLC here, i7 envy, HDMI -> TV

At first i wasn't sure which laptop to get but now i'm getting the envy 14 beats edition as it is FINALLY available online for configuration!
I would have gotten the envy if there wasn't the flowery thing on it but now that there's the beats edition this made my decision...
I'm gonna order it tommorow with the 300$ off coupon code...

How come I wont get notified about the Service Pack 1 update for Windows 7? Ive got the legitimate copy that came installed on the my Envy.

I really like the design on the regular Envy. I am constantly running my hand over the top because it feels kinda... cool. I also really like the color change that the lid has in different lighting. It looks almost black in a dark room, and kinda greyish silver in some, and a bronze when it's in the sunlight. I don't think the etching looks like flowers, it looks more just kinda swirly to me.
I have no idea, you might want to scan your computer or something. What version of Windows did you get with your laptop? I'm on Home Premium and it showed up in the automatic updates for me. Maybe there are some issues with your version of Windows, or maybe some kind of malware is screwing around with Windows Update.

I never had it show up in my windows 7 (professional) but it downloaded and installed fine when I did it manually.

I had some issues with my 24 monitor. I found that disabling the laptop monitor, and setting the standalone to primary worked well. Double check your settings for do nothing on lid close, while powered/unpowered.
And in general just keep at it, it is likely some small detail being overlooked.
