At this late stage... that's probably not going to be easy. Maybe the iLugger case for an iMac: iLugger 20" | ilugger.com

Or Mezzi cases if you can find on on ebay.

Other than that, perhaps a roller luggage case.

    Dear Unityole:

These bootable OS images have all kinds of users for most PCs. But there are issues booting into Windows from a USB stick on the Dragon, so while this may be useful information in general, it's kind of useless for the machines to which this forum is dedicated. That said, it is pretty wonderful stuff and definitely worth knowing about for anybody who works with lots of different Windows (and other) machines.

I've found the reboot.pro stuff very helpful for XP and Vista stuff, but since the Microsoft Store has made its Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool available, haven't needed it as much for routine install and repair stuff (though it is fabulous for creating a portable minimal desktop on a 32 or 64 GB USB stick).

Thanks, much 2.0. I actually found the new link on or about page 550 IIRC. I'm just finishing up 3 whole days of reading the entire Part 1 and Part 2 collection. I am in awe of the group, and what they have accomplished.

I actually wrote a review of the Dragon for Tom's Hardware back in November of 2008, and have been in and out of these forums since 2009. I'm officially de-lurking right now, and would like to volunteer to help out the forum with any or all of the following:

    1. occasional funding for projects of shared interest and activity, like the quad core and 280 "up-mod" projects
    2. Translation from German to English for Ricki and others when and as they need it (I actually got started writing for Tom's by translating articles from their crackerjack German staff into English in 2001 and probably have translated over 100 articles for them by now). These days I write for Tom's IT Pro, where I have an IT Certification blog and and a whole library of IT career advice articles under maintenance.
    3. Be happy to help 2.0 with maintenance upkeep of page one, and to work on or edit tutorials, how-to's, and other documents. I've written a few books and articles (see my bio at Ed Tittel :: Author, Editor, Expert Witness » Author, Editor, Expert Witness) so I can probably make myself useful.

It's been thrilling and amazingly educational to read through the threads from start to finish. I now have some serious plans for my pretty pristine 9203KW with T9500, 8 GB RAM, and some older and slower HDs. I'm definitely going SSD, and may decide to spring for the X9000 upgrade as well.

Thanks for all who've worked so long and hard to get here. I'm blown away by the staggering numbers of hours people have put in to keep the Dragon blowin' and goin'.

Now, I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and pitch in. How can I help?

    Best wishes,
    --Ed--

Wow, nice to have a celebrity on board.

The 280M/FX3700M project is probably the one most interesting to work on. It's pretty much at a standstill right now though. Hard nut to crack.

    Dear 2.0:
When it comes to hard-core BIOS hacking and solder-level mods, as something of a butterfingers, that's not really my thing. But I can help out with research, testing, and financial contributions. And of course with any writing or editing work that needs doing. And while I am a CS guy, haven't done any hard-core driver-level coding since the 1990s. But if we keep knocking ideas back and forth, I'm sure we can come up with something, right?

    Thanks,
    --Ed--

PS: Celebrity and notoriety are very different, BTW!

280M/FX3700M Project! Rah, rah, rah! Go 280M/FX3700M Project!

I still think it's a matter of extracting a handshake code off the 8800M and ATI 2600.

    Hi
Have just purchased a HDX9312tx with ATI video card and 1680 x 1050 lcd and plan to replace the ATI card with the NVidia 880. Does anyone know whether the hd 1920 X 1080 lcd is a drop in replacement or is it more involved?
    Cheers
