Are you referring to the destructive flash method? That's the one with the jumper in the drive. Though, that might not be for all of OCZ's drives. The Indilinx one's have that (jumper for barefoot mode) and you can flash it in windows from there.
    Brand new, secondhand.

Then, after the game, one would simply reverse the order from the graphics intensive game, to some less demanding video, and then to idle, and finally to shut down?
Yes! This corresponds to my recommendation. In what way is the "GPU" heated slowly makes no difference. Of course this is only a precaution and a recommendation. There is no guarantee against "GPU" problems. You have your "HDX" since 2008 and never had GPU issues. (without preheating)
Do you play on the "HDX"? (Games with a high "GPU" load)

It's easy to miss some of that information, if one is not as technically adept as you and numerous others on this forum.
Thank you! And yes, it makes a lot of work for me. Each letter is a pain and an enormous amount of time. I would love too brief and concise as "nando4" answer.
Unfortunately, one must know the language but accurate. Therefore, my answers are often long and confusing.
I often repeat myself even within the same article, in the hope that my statement is better understood. Therefore, I also work often with "links".

A recent example of ignorance of my posts is "Sky" and "Burke".
These two mutually exchange their non-existent knowledge. ("OCZ" "IDE Flash Firmware")
At a post by me is not responding. (AHCI Flash no problem)

I really do not know why this excites me. It might not matter to me. Who loves problems is to ignore all my posts and simply buy a crowning moment "OCZ".

Haha Ricki, I feel so bad for you sometimes because there are so many times where you've already posted a fix or guide to something meanwhile we're asking questions to which there's already an answer for. I can picture you shaking your head in frustration at all those times.

Anyways, I was ironically reading up on the OCZ toolbox they have supplied and I am also curious also, regarding the destructive flash method 2.0 mentioned. Not to sound like a broken record (wonder if Rick is familiar with that idiom) but with the toolbox I can easily put the SSD in the second drive bay and update the firmware while in Windows, then re-swap it back into drive bay 1 and install the cloned image. Since there's no mention in the PDF regarding the destructive method, I'm to assume it's not necessary?

On that note, Ricki don't hang me out to dry if you already answered that (gotta love idioms).

God I wish I actually had an SSD already so I could simply do this all myself cuz I'm this close to ordering an OCZ 240GB Octane...

I must always be first loud, then?
Thank you for your answer! Now I feel better.
"Digital window" makes even a "not recommended flash method" successfully. (without the second drive directly from "Windows SSD" on the sameness)

destructive flash method mentioned 2.0. = Past (no need for new SSD)

For whatever reason, it must be because a "OCZ" be? It is with this company in connection with "SSD" many problems.
Every 4 weeks, a new firmware. (this is only necessary in case of problems)
In addition, all new "SandForce controller" high power fluctuations. (by compression)

All these problems are not at Intel. (if no problems then no new firmware) No work and no risk.

Best "MLC SSD" SATA2 remains "Intel X25MG2 160GB"
For "MLC SATA3" my recommendation "Intel 510 Series 250 GB"
I would not write if I were not convinced myself.

Intel 320 series I would not Recommend! (possible data loss)

One interesting point for me was that I experienced identical problems with the Intel 5300 in that it would lock up my machine forcing a hard reset to recover. The part number for my 5300 was 506679-001 and It took me a while to discover that this card was the root cause of my lock-ups.

It was then I found some information on the HP Elitebook 8730W where a modified part 480986-001 was quoted for the Intel 5300. See here: HP EliteBook 8730w Mobile Workstation- HP EliteBook 8730w Mobile Workstation - Removing and Replacing Wireless LAN Minicard - c01674985 - HP Business Support Center.

Out of curiosity I obtained / installed an Intel 5300 (480986-001) and this version of the 5300 functions perfectly without causing any lock-ups to date on my Dragon.

I am now curious to find out if the lock-ups with the N6300 could be related to iAMT as I believe this card also has support for this technology. This is just a theory based on my experiences with the 5300 and the HP support article mentioned above.

RB - I would just like to say thank you for the extensive testing you carried out with the N6300 and I am also curious about a possible link with motherboard /chipset revisions following your tests. Maybe I will come back to the N6300 one day if we can find a solution.
This can occur with "WiFi 5300" to problems, I knew. Too, there is a thread on "NBR"
The reference to "iAMT" I was not known. This is really very interesting.
Thank you for this information! I will pursue this issue later.
At present, however, has "QX9300" highest priority. I will not give up before this CPU on the "HDX" works.

If I ever answer a little later, then this is because of my tests.
I do not miss any post on this forum and read everything very carefully.

    Please excuse my bad English!

Yes and that's really sad. Even "OCZ SSD" are expensive.

And exactly these problems are completely unknown to me. And this affects not only your older "OCZ" SSD!
With "Intel" everything is just as fast.

Glad to hear it. Let's see how long you use it. I can still remember it like 2 years ago with "PowerMizer off" was. First you have enjoyed yourself, then secretly turned on again.

The "Nvidia system tools" are with me still installed. However, I have disabled services and startup. Are not needed anyway. It disturbs not on the system.

Now even one complaint about you. Also you flight over again my posts. In this post (<-----attention is a "link"!!!!!) was asking me to answer.
An answer to the "link" "old post of mine." <----Here's the short way! It went to the correct flash RAM CL6. Maybe you've got time period.

Each set of my "Link" usually has a meaning. It serves not only for the font color to blue.

This is nonsense. It must be adjusted under any conditions somewhat. Not even in the registry database.
Trim works automatically under Win7, if the SSD controller supports Trim. (with all new SSD case)
    There is also no switch!

It does not matter whether they were "OS" is installed directly on "SSD" or cloned.
Also, the SATA AHCI driver is on the "HDX" irrelevant. Whether "MSAHCI" or "IRST".
