Were sure these mini ssds would work in the HDX?

As a HDX9000 uses a 2.5" bay, you'd need a US$20 interposer adapter to use a mSATA SSD. If you were technically crafty then could tap the e-sata port internally to attach the mSATA SSD in some free space in the HDX9000 chassis. See the mSATA/mPCIE SSD pinout. You'd need to compare this against the schematic of the HDX9000 e-SATA port, as shown in AlphaHex's sig or profile.

Is this any good? Looks like a budget ssd with decent read/write speeds.

Any mods to fit it in the hdx?

I'm going to download the 285.62 drivers and see if not only they work, but to also see if they improve my Battlefield 3 performance. Right now, the game is almost unplayable at the moment, due to stuttering issues and just the demand of the game itself. So I'll post my results later this evening...

Edit update: So far drivers are running smoothly, did the same steps as before with the previous drivers by disabling the powermizer using the manager. And performance is slightly better on Battlefield, however I have to run them at very low settings, anything above 1366x763 and the framerate drops big time. With more of the advanced settings I got em between medium and low, fps drops constantly, and still get some audio stutter every now and then but it's bearable, and this was running the o/c at 650/1625/915. But other than that, drivers are functioning like they should.

Default Fate of HP and Other Stories

Just thought you'd all like to know that it looks as if HP computers won't be orphans after all:

HP Will Keep PC Unit (UPDATED)

Also, I ran across this on PC World...another fragment of information for people running SSDs, from:
Three Surprising Things About Hard Drive Defragging | PCWorld

..."You should never defragment a solid-state drive (SSD). Doing so can shorten its lifespan. In fact, whether you purchased a laptop with an SSD installed or upgraded your laptop with one, be sure to disable scheduled defragmentation in Windows 7. Click Start, type disk, and then click Disk Defragmenter. Click Configure schedule to disable the feature.

By the way, if you have an external hard drive, one that’s not always connected to your PC, it may not get the chance to benefit from Windows’ scheduled defragging. Therefore, you should run Disk Defragmenter on it manually every month or so.

For more on the subject, read Lincoln Spector’s Defragging: How, Why and Whether."

Even if people know not to defragment an SSD, it may be that many do not know that Windows 7 (and Vista) does this by default, and needs to be disabled if the SSD is a primary drive.

Is anyone else having troubles playing SHOGUN II on the Dragon?

    (Vista64 - CPU X9000)

I am one of those many who has a BSOD when starting the game, right after the opening screen. Support suggests updating BIOS, realtek and GPU drivers... Which is quite annoying since every other game runs fine with the drivers suggested on page one of this lounge.
Yes we know your blue LED console doesn't work right! Please Newbies read my FAQ post on page 100 (post#992) of the old thread (or the one on page 9 if you are in the new thread) before asking questions - Thanks

Just scouring the net, a lot of people are having trouble with this game on Vista and 7, most often with Nvidia cards. This is on a range of machines...not just the Dragon.

I know, in fact I am sure the problem comes from them, I was just wondering if anyone here found a solution considering that we all have pretty much thge same configuration...

Dragon never gives me BSOD, and I am not going to mess with the BIOS for a stupid game.
