My hdx9494nr has stopped booting up from hd. I get a repair message asking me to load the hd driver. Does anyone know which driver I use? I have a toshiba 320 gb hd model hdd2ho1. Thanks!

There are many sites telling how to do this, and I have used several in the past. These are the directions I used this time:

1.Open up Regedit and go to \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ Control\Video\********\0000\
The #'s will be random numbers. There will be a few of them, pick the one string that the 0000 "folder" has the longest list of items.

    Mine was: (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{C920BE60-F7C3-4382-B198-E220238A64BB}\0000

    2. Create the 4 Powermizer keys in the 0000 key(these will all be DWORD):
    PerfLevelSrc
    PowerMizerEnable
    PowermizerLevel
    PowermizerLevelAC

    3. Change the values (double click on them) to:
PerfLevelSrc 3322 (I changed to 2222 to completely disable PowerMizer)
    PowerMizerEnable 0
    PowermizerLevel 1
    PowermizerLevelAC 1

    4. Reboot and Powermizer will be disabled

Alternately, Ricki linked to a powermizer switch program a few pages back....I have never used this.
My other car is a U.S. Navy Hovercraft

Thanks HC. This should be on the front page as an alternative to RB's program.

There's a link to PowerMizer Manager on the front page.

Looking to replace a 20" screen. Can someone tell if WUXGA screen would look better. I know these are made by different manufacturer, not Philips LG. Would it have any disadvantages comparing to WSXGA+?

GG, think it's possible there is something amiss in your situation - do you have another drive you can use?

OMG! How do you feel about the edges of the video missing? 1080P on your big screen looks awesome. Slightly higher power consumption, greater chance of pixel failure/backlight problem, potential for supplier issues (pixel policy, warranty, etc.).

Regardless of downsides the pros outweigh the cons.

WUXGA is hands down best screen! 1680x1050 is not a standard multiple of the VGA, so the gpu should actually need to work more in order to compensate for the odd calculations. This may have changed or become insignificant, but it is what I was taught before GPU cards became the best option to integrated.
