Now this is really interesting, showing the direction chip technology is heading...and pointing the way to really fast processors of all kinds.

    And it's an American company.

I have a problem here... My laptop is an HDX9280LA and when I turn it on for the first time in the day it runs REALLY but... REALLY slow, then I turn the laptop off and turn it on again and works GREAT!... I thought that was because of the BIOS flash (original F41), so I've downgraded to F40 and F39 and I'm still having the same problem. I've run the DPC Latency Checker in both states and in the first is horrible and the second is fine. The processor in CPU-Z shows the 2.5GHz. What could be causing this issue? I'm really disappointed with this that wasn't happening when I first bought it. It has all maintenances OK (fans, sinks, thermal paste, all ok). Never done anything else. It started when I flashed the BIOS to F40, now I think there's no way back. BY the way... The other problem is that when I play anything in fullscreen it freezes for about 20 seconds after 10 minutes of playing and that didn't happen before. It all started after the BIOS flash (F40). I've done about 5 reflashes, now I'm at F39... Any help?

Since you say this all seemed to start with a flash you'll probably have to flush your BIOS by pullin' the CMOS battery for 10 minutes and holdin' the power button down for 'bout 2 to clear out it's memory and then flash to a stable version.

A lot has happened since you last posted...most notably Throttlestop, the remarkable CPU overclocking app.

Dom, if it were a BR player, I'd tell you to check for a new firmware version. I'm not sure in this case if it would be a new device driver, or the player software that would be upgraded.

Still nothing... Flushing is the same. What could be causing this?... Any kind of fix?... I was thinking in doing a BIOS Recovery Procedure... This is not good... I'm sad.

Something is likey being lost in translation ... what I have suggested is that you disassemble the unit to the point where you have access to the underside of the MB, remove the CMOS battery for at least ten consecutive minutes (and even up to or beyond 30); then depress the power switch for at least 2 continuous minutes. Once these steps are completed and the unit has been reassembled then perform a flash of the BIOS per the recovery procedure.
