I play GTA IV too which I'm sure is much more demanding. And I play Mafia II as well

Then it's probably just BO's fault.

Is there any way to get Need for Speed: Shift 2, and Splinter Cell: Conviction to run on the Envy 14?

All I get are artifacts and solid blocks of graphics.

PS - I have the most up-to-date drivers for my ATI 5650.... 11.x

    get a screenshot of it.

they should run but your drivers could have a corrupted pixelshader (like what happened to me and dead space, took cleaning them out and restarting from scratch to fix it)

Dead Space 2 and Crysis 2 run beautifully, but I'll take a screenshot when I'm back home....

well it depends on the thing.

Dead space 1 gave me crazy corrupted textures.

WoW gave me giant triangle textures all over the place.

WoW in dx11 mode worked fine.

    so *shrugs*

Is there a thread somewhere with the latest AMD driver that works with switchable graphics and instructions on how best to get them to work?

+1 for an updated graphics driver thread. I've installed the basic ones from HP.

    No thread needed.
Install AMD 11.3 Mobility driver over the HP stock graphics driver. All functionality still works.
