Re: *OFFICIAL: HP ENVY 14 Owner's Lounge*
Is there any reason I couldn't cannibalize RAM from an old system if I get the 1 DIMM option?

Re: *OFFICIAL: HP ENVY 14 Owner's Lounge*
Hey, buys, can I ask if there are any good discounts out there? Does the student discount work with the Envy 14?
1315 - 92.05 = 1222.95
Fat discount, perfect for making it my price range if you can get it.
Bing cash back is only 5% now T,T
Any suggestions // coupons?

Re: *OFFICIAL: HP ENVY 14 Owner's Lounge*
Nobody else is going for the Core i7 840, like I am?
ULTIMATE POWER?!
Also, is the $200 "8 cell battery + 6 cell battery" option the "slice" option or is that something else?
I'd order immediately but I can't seem to find a Bing cashback promo for 20 or 25 like I did with the first Envy. Anyone have any idea bout this, or a top-of-the-line coupon that takes like $400-600 off as there was for older Envy models?

Re: *OFFICIAL: HP ENVY 14 Owner's Lounge*
The i7 840 is going to destroy your batteries so quickly, plus in a benchmarking test by notebookcheck (which I highly recommend for things such as comparing graphics) they conclude via bench marking that the strain caused by quadruple processing makes the increased speed hardly exist.
Notebookcheck: Review Intel Core i3/i5/i7 Processors ?Arrandale?
It wouldn't be worth the cash, extra speed, or battery drain.
(I'm a rook though, this is all just to my understanding)
"If you consider the criteria price, performance and power consumption, the Intel Core i5 should be exposed as the obvious winner."
