I've decided to take on the duty to post the latest drivers that are compatible with the following notebooks. It is part of my ongoing, informal commitment to help assist those who had performed clean installs on their HP notebooks. Please let me know if you find newer drivers or other devices so I can update this post!

Drivers

All of these drivers come from HP's website, Microsoft Update, and from other reputable websites (including other manufacturers). All of the drivers here are also WHQL Certified or digitally signed drivers, available as of the date when this post was updated. These drivers should be compatible with the notebook series stated above, but I am not responsible for technical difficulties that can occur as a result of improper driver installation!

Following along the same lines as the other driver threads, the process of installing and updating drivers is for ADVANCED/EXPERIENCED users only. Average users can use the drivers located at the HP support portals -- they're the safest and simplest way to go in terms of drivers for your specific model. Some of these drivers may work with notebooks other than the stated brand and models, but this is NOT guaranteed. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK -- only install these drivers if you know how to revert the changes that you have made should any problems be encountered.

Intel Chipset Device Software

Important Information
To ensure that all device drivers are updated, simply execute the downloaded setup file using the -overall parameter. Example: If you saved the downloaded file as infinst911autol.exe to the root directory of C: drive, you can launch the Run command (Windows key + R) and insert "C:\infinst911autol.exe -overall" in the Open field (without the quotes). Press OK to begin the interactive installation process. Starting with Intel Chipset Device Software package version 9.2.0.1016, the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver may become overwritten with the driver that exists in the package if it is installed. Should such an instance occur, reinstall the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver afterwards.

Intel Rapid Storage Technology

Important Information
Intel Rapid Storage Technology is the new name that replaces the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. It is highly recommended that you install this even if RAID is not configured on your system. See Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) - Product overview for more information. If you are having problems with the Interactive Setup wizard, use the INF Install method instead. This allows the driver to be installed using the Device Manager - Update Driver wizard. Once the driver is installed, you can try the Interactive Setup wizard again to ensure that the software is correctly installed.

Qualcomm Atheros Wireless LAN

Important Information
There may be newer versions of this driver available however none of them specifically support the ones built into these notebook models. This is the most compatible driver currently available. Only for notebooks with a Qualcomm Atheros AR wireless adapter! Do not install this if your notebook does not contain a Qualcomm Atheros-based wireless adapter! AMD Radeon HD Graphics

Important Information
Make sure that you download and install the package that is applicable to your notebook series. Do not install these if you have a standalone Intel Graphics Media Accelerator / Intel HD Graphics solution or an AMD graphics card that is not applicable! REQUIRED: The current HP releases specifically support HP versions of the specified Mobility Radeon HD models and include the following components. AMD graphics driver with switchable graphics feature (if applicable, available on the ENVY 14-2XXX, ENVY 17-2XXX, dv6-6XXX, dv7-6XXX) HDMI audio driver AMD Catalyst Control Center configuration software OPTIONAL: If you want to install the current reference driver provided by AMD, download and install it on top of the HP release. This is done so that the switchable graphics feature can continue to operate properly. Install the reference driver at your own risk! Although the driver is provided by AMD, it is not guaranteed that it will operate normally under all circumstances.

Intel HD Graphics 2000 / 3000

Important Information
This driver package is compatible only with notebooks that have an Intel 6-series motherboard chipset with integrated graphics technology, and should not be used if an AMD graphics card is included with the notebook. It is strongly recommended that you remove all previous versions of the Intel graphics driver prior to installing the newest version. This driver is only for the dv6-4XXX / dv6-6XXX / dv7-5XXX / dv7-6XXX / ENVY 17-2XXX series! It is recommended that you uninstall all previous versions of the driver before installing the newest version. If you don't, the installation wizard will uninstall any old versions for you. You may have to relaunch the installation wizard to proceed with the actual installation of the new driver.

Important Information
This driver is equivalently known as HP ProtectSmart for consumer notebooks and HP 3D DriveGuard for business notebooks. Some updates: I added a couple more drivers to the first post, and I also wanted to let everyone know that I'm expanding the support of Sandy Bridge consumer notebooks in this thread to include the initial wave that was released (dv6-4XXX, dv7-429X, dv7-5XXX) and the new ENVY 17-2000 series. A compatibility note may be posted in the Important Information section for certain items, indicating whether you should install it or not depending on the notebook model that you currently have.

The HP SimplePass 2011 software is created by Authentec. I've tried it and I didn't think it worked as well as the DigitalPersona Personal fingerprint software. As a result, I have not posted this up.

If possible, I prefer that the DigitalPersona software be used instead.
