I'm reading the release notes on the version of the intel wifi drivers that were recently updated. I'm having a ton of issues with wireless freezing and wireless display. What all do I need to uninstall to do a ''clean'' install of the wireless drivers? Should I uninstall all the wireless display stuff also? What is the best order to reinstall it?

I update by installing on top of the older drivers. Always worked for me, plus the older versions (which have never been a problem for me) are still there to roll back to if the new drivers become an issue.

    • Updated Broadcom 2070 Bluetooth driver package to version 6.5.0.2100.

Please note that the Broadcom Bluetooth version 6.5 packages will, without your permission, install bloatware into the following directory - C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software\EasyBits Games. You can safely remove the EasyBits Games folder and then run a registry scan (using third-party software) to remove any other evidence of EasyBits on your system.

Actual Broadcom Bluetooth driver components will have driver version numbers that will differ from the package version (which is 6.5.0.2100). However, the driver components should have a version number with the format of 6.5.X.XXXX, where X is a number.

I just tried to download the file from the Realtek website and it worked without asking for a username or password. Try downloading the file again, from the location nearest you.

Amendment? Intel 6200 wireless card users should used 13.5.x version of drivers.

My wireless card in my Envy17 2xxx is Intel 6200. When using the latest 14.2.x driver, transferring files between my laptop and my media server will almost always cause the system to freeze. A little search on the Intel's download site confirmed it. They recommend the users of this card roll back to 13.5.x driver. I rolled mine back and have not had that freezing issue again. Just FYI.

Update: Still get occasional freezes when accesssing wifi. Even with 13.5 driver. Perhaps, there is something amiss in my laptop?!
