Re: [Drivers] HP ENVY 14 (INTEL)
Hey guys,
In the "Envy 14 battery Life Log" thread, people there has noticed that there is a power management setting for the intel wireless card. I have tried the following two driver/software files, ICS_s64.exe and ICS_dv64.exe yet i dont have that option.
Also I can't use "intel PROSet wifi management utility" instead of the windows zero config utility either.
What is everyone using as there wifi utility manager? Also do you have the option/checkbox "let windows manage my wireless connection" under wireless properties?

This might be a stupid question but how do you turn off bluetooth? I clicked on disable in device manager but my phone can still find it.

Re: [Drivers] HP ENVY 14 (INTEL)
Some updated card reader drivers are now available on the first post.
08/03/2010
- Changed "Alcor Micro AU6368 USB 2.0 Card Reader" to "Alcor Micro USB 2.0 Card Reader."
- Updated Alcor Micro USB 2.0 Card Reader driver to version 1.0.15.54.
I have been looking through the current HP consumer notebook lines and I've decided to eventually add dm4 and dv5 Gen 2 Intel support to this thread. There are a couple of things that I will need to add in order for this to be possible. In the meantime, stay tuned for this update!
You can disable the Bluetooth connection through the Network and Sharing Center in Windows. Once there, click "Change adapter settings" on the left side. Then you can right-click on the Bluetooth connection and select Disable. (Alternatively located in Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections.)
I've heard that the PROSet WiFi Management Utility is not working with the latest WiFi Link drivers. If you want to use PROSet, you'll have to stick with the v13.2.0.30 drivers for now. (In case you're wondering, I'm just using the Windows wireless configuration.)Pavilion dv6-7014nr (modified) / TouchPad 32GB

Re: [Drivers] HP ENVY 14 (INTEL)
Does anyone know a way to rollback to an old BIOS version? I've tried running the executables on the first page and they act like they install, but then when I restart I'm back to the newest version.

You should put up the F. 06 BIOS, it's been released. It supposedly fixes battery recognition problems.

Updated BIOS release now up, thanks L3vi.

As a reminder, make sure that you read the Important Information section pertaining to flashing the BIOS.

Re: [Drivers] HP ENVY 14 (INTEL)
How do you find the drivers from the HP softpaq ftp server? I have HP support assistant installed on one of my Envy 14s and it says there is an updated Intel WLAN driver. However, when I go to the HP software & driver downloads site there are no WLAN drivers there for my laptop. I assume since HP Support Assistant says there are new WLAN drivers they must be on the softpaq ftp server somewhere.
Also, is there any way to see what driver files were actually updated? I installed the Intel WLAN driver update and Audio Codec update through Support Assistant but the driver versions don't seem to have changed in device manager.Last edited by msweeney; 7th August 2010 at 10:20 AM.

Re: [Drivers] HP ENVY 14 (INTEL)
I find new drivers by sorting the contents of the HP FTP server by date. I then check the documentation of any new drivers that appear.
I strongly suggest you do not use the HP Support Assistant for updating. It suggests updates that are actually older than the updates I've listed here. This may also be why the updates don't install properly in the end.Pavilion dv6-7014nr (modified) / TouchPad 32GB
