Re: [Drivers] HP ENVY 14 (INTEL)
After a fresh windows install, I'm not sure which software will reinstall what controls the trackpad's quick enable/disable or any type of on-screen display of the volume etc.
Any ideas?

Re: [Drivers] HP ENVY 14 (INTEL)
The quick enable/disable for the touchpad is likely controlled by the Synaptics TouchPad driver.
I believe the on-screen display of volume occurs due to MediaSmart SmartMenu being installed. Try this and see if it works.
I'm not completely confident about my responses here -- if anyone has something to add here, that would be appreciated.

I think the osd may be hp mediasmart's stuff.

Re: [Drivers] HP ENVY 14 (INTEL)
ok yeah HP mediasmart Smart Menu is the OSD for everything but the touchpad and the wireless
The touchpad won't be able to turn on or off by double/triple tapping in the top left if tap to click is turned off in the synaptics settingsEnvy 14

Re: [Drivers] HP ENVY 14 (INTEL)
oh hey.
heads up Justin.
the latest synaptics drivers try to default to the x86 version when you run the basic setup.exe. You have to go into the winWDF folder and then the x64 folder and run setup.exe from in there to make 'em install on windows 7 64-bitLast edited by MagusDraco; 18th July 2010 at 12:27 PM.

Re: [Drivers] HP ENVY 14 (INTEL)
The ati drivers make the laptop take an extra 15 seconds to boot not exactly sure why. It stays at the windows logo for an extra 15 seconds while if you uninstall the ati drivers its normal. Thats with using windows 7 x64. Anyone know if there are any better ati drivers that don't do this?
