I've decided to take on the duty to post the latest drivers that are compatible with the following notebooks. It is part of my ongoing, informal commitment to help assist those who had performed clean installs on their HP notebooks. Please let me know if you find newer drivers or other devices so I can update this post!

All of these drivers come from HP's website, Microsoft Update, and from other reputable websites (including other manufacturers). All of the drivers here are also WHQL Certified or digitally signed drivers, available as of the date when this post was updated. These drivers should be compatible with the notebook series stated above, but I am not responsible for technical difficulties that can occur as a result of improper driver installation!

Following along the same lines as the other driver threads, the process of installing and updating drivers is for ADVANCED/EXPERIENCED users only. Average users can use the drivers located at the HP support portals -- they're the safest and simplest way to go in terms of drivers for your specific model. Some of these drivers may work with notebooks other than the stated brand and models, but this is NOT guaranteed. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK -- only install these drivers if you know how to revert the changes that you have made should any problems be encountered.

Intel Chipset Device Software

Important Information
To ensure that all device drivers are updated, simply execute the downloaded setup file using the -overall parameter. Example: If you saved the downloaded file as infinst911autol.exe to the root directory of C: drive, you can launch the Run command (Windows key + R) and insert "C:\infinst911autol.exe -overall" in the Open field (without the quotes). Press OK to begin the interactive installation process. Starting with Intel Chipset Device Software package version 9.2.0.1016, the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver may become overwritten with the driver that exists in the package if it is installed. Should such an instance occur, reinstall the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver afterwards.

Intel Rapid Storage Technology (SATA AHCI)

Important Information
Intel Rapid Storage Technology is the new name that replaces the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. It is highly recommended that you install this even if RAID is not configured on your system. See Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) - Product overview for more information. If you are having problems with the Interactive Setup wizard, use the INF Install method instead. This allows the driver to be installed using the Device Manager - Update Driver wizard. Once the driver is installed, you can try the Interactive Setup wizard again to ensure that the software is correctly installed.

Intel Turbo Boost Technology

Important Information
It is strongly recommended that you remove all previous versions of the Intel Turbo Boost Technology driver before installing the newest version. Only install this if your notebook has an Intel Core i5 mobile processor! Do not install this on notebooks with a Core 2, Core i3, or Core i7 mobile processor. Further technical release notes are documented by Intel and are included in the driver package.

Atheros Wireless LAN

Important Information
There may be newer versions of this driver available however none of them specifically support the ones built into these notebook models. This is the most compatible driver currently available. Only for notebooks with an Atheros AR wireless adapter! Do not install this if your notebook does not contain an Atheros-based wireless adapter! Use the Device Manager to verify your notebook's wireless hardware.

NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT / GT 130M / GT 230M / GT 320M

Important Information
Do not install this if you have an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator or ATI/AMD graphics card! It is strongly recommended that you remove all previous versions of the NVIDIA GeForce graphics driver prior to installing the newest version. Driver packages directly originating from NVIDIA additionally include the following components and will be installed as necessary: NVIDIA HDMI Audio driver PhysX System Software Links to general discussions for these drivers on NBR are shown in the Documentation column of each release. The official NVIDIA download links provided are United States mirrors. Other mirrors may exist in your region to provide a faster download experience. The version 8.17.12.7600 (276.00) package does not include the PhysX System Software, NVIDIA HDMI Audio driver, or 3D Vision Controller driver. If you need any of these components, obtain and install them from one of the NVIDIA reference packages. I personally recommend that you perform a clean installation through the setup wizard whenever a graphics driver upgrade is performed.

Intel HD Graphics

Important Information
Do not install this if your notebook contains an ATI/AMD graphics card or NVIDIA graphics card! This driver package is compatible only with notebooks that have an Intel 5-series or 6-series motherboard chipset with integrated graphics technology. It is strongly recommended that you remove all previous versions of the Intel graphics driver prior to installing the newest version. Important Information
Make sure that you download the package that is applicable to the OS you are currently using. It is recommended that you uninstall all previous versions of the driver before installing the newest version. If you don't, the installation wizard will uninstall any old versions for you. You may have to relaunch the installation wizard to proceed with the actual installation of the new driver.

Broadcom 2070 / 20702 Bluetooth

Important Information
Only install this if your notebook contains an HP Integrated Bluetooth module or a Broadcom 2070/20702 Bluetooth module! Use the Device Manager to verify that this is the case. Please note that version 6.5 packages will, without your permission, install bloatware into the following directory - C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software\EasyBits Games. You can safely remove the EasyBits Games folder and then run a registry scan (using third-party software) to remove any other evidence of EasyBits on your system.

Synaptics TouchPad

Important Information
This is the most compatible driver currently available for these notebooks. Newer versions may exist and work, but they are not fully compatible with certain functions (for customization, etc). Although not required, it is recommended that you uninstall all previous versions of the Synaptics TouchPad driver before installing the newest version.

Validity Fingerprint Reader

Important Information
Only install this if your notebook has a fingerprint reader! The current release supports the following Validity fingerprint sensors: VFS201, VFS300, VFS301, VFS421, VFS451. Remove all previous versions prior to installing the latest release. If the driver does not successfully install, use the Device Manager - Update Driver wizard instead.

This TV tuner is originally made by AVerMedia. There is sometimes a newer version of the driver available on their website, however if you use that driver it will not be recognized as "HP ATSC/Analog TV Tuner" or "HP DVB-T/Analog TV Tuner." Only install this if your notebook comes with an integrated TV tuner provided by HP.

HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor

Important Information
This driver is equivalently known as HP ProtectSmart for consumer notebooks and HP 3D DriveGuard for business notebooks. Drivers provided by the Microsoft Update Catalog must be installed using the Device Manager - Update Driver wizard. These releases do not include the additional software or control panel. Make sure you have the Intel Matrix Storage Manager or Intel Rapid Storage Technology installed first before you install this.

BIOS

Important Information
The BIOS images released must be flashed in a Windows environment. Only use the BIOS release that is applicable to your particular notebook model. Do NOT attempt to flash a BIOS image that is not supported or designated for your model. Doing so will render your system unusable!
