Hey dannyres, just to give you a heads up: a new NVIDIA graphics driver is located on the Microsoft Update Catalog - version 179.32 which you may want to check out. There is a generic INF that supports all known mobile graphics products from GeForce 6 Go onwards, and an HP-supplied INF that supports current (and soon to be released) notebooks.

What I do is I usually search "NVIDIA" at first through the Microsoft Update Catalog. Since there are so many entries, I begin to narrow down the searches, using "NVIDIA GeForce", then more specific products that are current/new, like the "NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT", "NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M", etc. If I find a new driver using these searches, what I do is I then search for the exact same version number to see if any other entries of the same version exist (or potentially 32-bit/64-bit variations). I usually do the same tactic when searching for other drivers that I could find for my notebook.

Additionally, I already notified the staff at LaptopVideo2Go, so you should see it there shortly if anyone needs a modified INF (although it isn't very likely that you'll need one - the generic INF already has the support).

Ah yes I know that problem, I had it myself once. The problem stems from the fact that the file was downloaded with Internet Explorer which pops a flag on the file saying it came from the Internet. However the issue is easy to fix on Intel's side so it's a shame they havn't done anything about it. What you need to do is run "explorer.exe /isolate" from an elevated command prompt and then browse to C:\Windows\System32 and right click on each file individually that pops up the message and goto properties and click Unblock. That should fix it! If you need any clarification please let me know and I'd be happy to assist.

Thanks for the post. I've been searching for quickplay since I replaced the HDD's in laptop. Now I can watch blue-rays on my laptop again.

    Thanks Dannyres. That worked.

However, I have given up on vista and planning to downgrade to xp cause now I am having issues with Windows installer wherein it just stops working while I am doing any kind of software installs.

I really appreciate your helpful posts. Good luck with everything.

Glad I could help. I suggest doing a full reinstall of Vista over XP but its up to you.

Well different drivers have bug fixes, performance improvements, new functionality.. if what you have going now is working well then there is no rush to update really. I (and a lot of other people) just like to have the most up to date drivers currently available.

Signed up to thank you Dannyres (and orev too for Vista OEM activation backup/restore). Anyways, I have done a clean install and all is running well. I am running Vista Home Premium (32-bit). Can anyone point me to an drive imaging program that does not need to be installed locally and can run from CD/DVD?
