bad dv1000 clock
I just revieved my dv1000 about 2 weeks ago, and have loved it, except for i have a clock problem now. I just realized that it started doing it this weekend, I am not sure if it was doing it before, but when my computer is off and not plugged into the wall, the clock stops counting up. the time will be at the same place as where it was when i shut it off. it counts up when the notebook is on, and when it is plugged into the wall, but not when it is off and unplugged. what can I do? i have hte bios version 1.12 or whatever the new one is. i am going to call customer service but I wanted to see if others where having this problem, and what have you done about it? Thanks.

A new BIOS fix is in the works, but is potentially a few weeks out. The F.12 BIOS update *does* fix the problem if your unit came with F.08 installed. But if you received it with F.12, then even flashing back to F.08 and then to F.12 does not seem to work. Sending your unit back to HP will not necessarily get you a fix until they get the new BIOS worked out.

is no one else really having a problem with their dv1000 clock? it is just me? has anyone else, if you are even having a problem, found that it happens with only when they are running off of the battery and and not the AC adapter, and that it is happening with their second battery in, not with the main battery that they bought? anyone?

AHHHHHH. I HAVE TRIED CALLING HP ABOUT THIS, AND NO ONE HAS GIVEN ME AN ANSWER, THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT THEY WILL CALL ME BACK, AND THEY HAVE NOT. MY CLOCK IS NOT WORKING WHEN MY COMPUTER IS RUNNING ON BATTERIES AND I SHUT IT OFF, IT WORKS WHEN THE COMPUTER IS ON, BUT STOPS COUNTING UP WHEN IT IS OFF. MY COMPUTER CAME WITH THE F.12 FIX IN IT ALREADY, AND I HAVE TRIED FLASHING IT WITH THE F.12 AGAIN. WHAT SHOULD I DO? I DO NOT WANT TO RETURN IT, BUT I CANNOT HAVE A COMPUTER THAT HAS THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE HEARD THAT THERE IS A NEW FIX COMING OUT FROM SOME PEOPLE, BUT NOT FROM HP. HEEEELLLLLPPPPPPP PLLEEEASEE...
