    Default HP Vs Asus

So i will be going to college soon, and i want a laptop with decent battery life and also thats good for gaming, and of course. RELIABILITY AND GOOD BUILD QUALITY
    Here are my choices:

    CUstom HP dv6tqe:
    Processor: 2nd generation Intel(R) Quad Core(TM) i7-2720QM (2.2 GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) w/Turbo Boost up to 3.3 GHz
Graphics card 1GB Radeon(TM) HD 6770M GDDR5 Graphics [HDMI, VGA]
    Memory: 8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
Hard drive 750GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
    display: 1366x788?

    ASUS N53SV-EH71
    Display 1366x788
Processor: 2nd generation Intel Core i7-2670QM processor (2.2 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.1 GHz)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics with 1GB DDR3 VRAM and NVIDIA Optimus Technology
    WLAN: 802.11 b/g/n (@ 2.4GHz) , Bluetooth v3.0
    LAN: 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet
    Memory: 6GB DDR3 SDRAM, 2 x SODIMM socket (expandable to 8GB SDRAM)
    Storage: 500GB 7200RPM hard drive

I mean from the specs. The HP looks like it is going to win hands down but the thing is i heard the build quality on ASUS is superior. WHat do you think i should get

Usage: Games: Diablo 3(in the future), League Of legends, Dota, maybe
Microsoft, taking the laptop to class, etc

As I mentioned in your other thread, you need to get models that have better screens, if you're going to buy those laptops. 1366x768 screens are terrible.

    PLEASE GOD
Don't get that screen unless you really like big text. Try to get a full HD screen.
The Dv6 is pretty good build quality but the Asus is definitely better. It also has a much better cooling system.
Is it possible to put in a better GPU? A GT 540 is pretty bad...

Do you really just want only these two computers?
Clevo P150HM is a lot better for gaming, is probably actually cheaper, and weighs only slightly more.

This one is around the same price: ASUS G53SX-XT1 Laptop Computer - Intel Core i7-2630QM 2.0GHz, 8GB DDR3, 640GB HDD, BD-ROM Combo, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M, 15.6 Full HD, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 1-Yr Warr. / 1-Yr Acc. Damage at TigerDirect.com
    - It has a 1920x1080 display as well
    - It has a considerably faster GPU
    - It's significantly heavier (heavier than many 17-inchers) and might not be something you want to carry around
    - It gets considerably less battery life.

A little bit higher in price is the Malibal Lotus P151HM1 / Sager NP8130 / Clevo P151HM1
    - It's lighter and less bulky than the ASUS G53
    - It's got a faster version of the GTX 560M (The 1.5GB 560M is better than the 2GB version because it has a 192-bit bus instead of a 128-bit bus)
    Lotus P151HM1 - MALIBAL
    Sager NP8130 / Clevo P151HM1 - XOTIC PC
    - Make sure you scroll down and select "Windows 7 Home Premium" unless you already have your own copy or have a cheaper way of obtaining a copy
    - After adding an OS, it comes out to $1017.53 - and I'm not even sure if they charge tax.

With an even better GPU is the MSI/Force 16F2
    http://www.xoticpc.com/force-16f2012...wconfigure=yes
    - Make sure you scroll down and select "Windows 7 Home Premium" unless you already have your own copy or have a cheaper way of obtaining a copy
    - After adding an OS, it comes out to $1090.53.
