    Default m2000 dead!

so my friend's m2000 has a problem... when you hit the power button to start up, the screen turns on and flashes grey, then goes black. we can't get it to power up. the battery is fully charged and i've tried removing it then putting it back. any ideas?

I suggest the following (follow the steps!)

    - Remove the AC power
    - Remove the battery
    - Press power a few times (20 times, it is perfectly normal that nothing happens. You are draining residual current)
    - Put back the battery
    - Put back the AC power
    - Try to power up the computer now

If nothing changes, try resetting the CMOS. This is a bit harder, since it involves opening the laptop. Try asking somebody that knows a bit more about laptop with this once, if you're unsure.
