Re: HP Pavilion dv8000t
I am planning on ordering this tomorrow:
- dv8000t
- Windows XP MCE
- Intel Core Duo T2300 1.66
- WXGA 1440 x 900
- 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400
- 512 MB RAM
- 80 GB 5400 HD
- LightScribeCombo
- Wireless 3945 w/ bluetooth
So, build date on the shopping cart is March 29... So, should I not expect this till April 29?!!? LOL!
Either way, I am set on this model. Anyone receive their 8000t yet?
Aloha!

Re: HP Pavilion dv8000t
^^I'd like to know this myself as the estimated ship date for my dv8000t (3/17) has come and gone without any change in my order status

Re: HP Pavilion dv8000t
My build date was the 14th, I just late today, got my confirmation and tracking number... So I would take the date their giving you, and add up to 10 days from it..

Re: HP Pavilion dv8000t
My build date was also the 17th.
I've twice called customer service. The first time they told me that the order status pages are only updated once a day (at 6:30pm est).
The second time I called they said that I would have my laptop within the 5-7 day shipping period from the original build date estimate. Based on information in other HP forums stating that 5-7 business day shipping often takes only two days, my laptop would have to ship no later than Friday, the 24th to arrive by Tuesday the 28th. Of course, this may just be a little too optimistic.
I must say that I'm not thrilled with my HP shopping experience. I doubt that they will allow me to "extend" payment dates as cavalierly as they extend build dates.

Re: HP Pavilion dv8000t
An official notification of delays:
"Due to production delays we will be unable to ship your order on the original
estimated ship date. The revised estimated ship date for your order is 3/23/2006
or no later than 7 business days from the original estimated ship date. If you
prefer not to wait you may cancel your order and receive a prompt refund
by either replying to this email message with your order number or
calling our toll-free customer service number at 866-288-1610 between
7:00 A.M. - 2:00 A.M. (ET) Monday through Friday or on Saturday between
10:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. (ET).
If we do not hear from you before we ship your order, we will assume you
have agreed to this shipment delay and still want your custom PC order.
We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused and thank
you for your patience. Following this email you will receive a HP Home &
Home Office Store $50 coupon due to the delay of your order."
That's just great. I've already invested two weeks into this purchase. I need the laptop by the first week of April to work on-site with a client. If they can't guarantee that I'll have the laptop in time to work with my client I need to cancel my order and just go buy one. Seems a shame, as it's a nice laptop.
I asked to speak with someone else and was eventually told that I can complain at their "contact us" page. I'm going to give that a shot.
This is really souring me on HP. I hope this is an isolated event.
