Re: HP Envy 15? i7 meets 4830+15" screen!
That was a good read, as expected price tag is not ridiculously high but still high nonetheless, that was a really interesting way they designed the battery, cant decide if that is easier to keep spare batteries or more difficult, also the voodooey flowery design I have mixed feelings about

Re: HP Envy 15? i7 meets 4830+15" screen!
Really not a fan of that sunken keyboard look extending all the way to the edges. 16:9... nuff said. I do like the slice battery and the unibody chassis though.
The 13 is too expensive ($1,699 - more so than the MBP 13). The 15-inch Envy is way better value ($1,799). Although the 13-inch seems to have a better display.
However, like everyone else, I think they should've waited a few more months and launched them with Intel's 32nm Arrandale and ATI's DX11 40nm 5000-series (or NVIDIA G300, whichever). Guess they could offer them as options but not likely for the GPU.

Re: HP Envy 15? i7 meets 4830+15" screen!
The Arrandale CPUs are mainstream CPUs and far weaker than the ones in the HP. Also, the 5 series and 300 series won't be in any notebook that you can purchase for at least half a year. So, no point in waiting for these mainstream parts. HP released it at the right time - for Windows 7's release. The GPU can easily be added in at a future time just like Dell's sXPS 16 3670 to 4670.

Okay, is there something wrong with this picture? How did HP manage to stuff all the stuff in, while keeping under 1 inch??!?also works in a new Core i7 processor, makes room for dual SSD drives
Its out on the 15th of October- cant wait until the review...
