    Default dv5t power light question

I just got my dv5t and even though the notebook is closed and not
powered up, the power light in the front, and on the power switch,
are continuously flashing. What am I not getting, here?

The flashing lights means your laptop is on sleep.
Use shut down to turn off the laptop.

Hey, what can I say - I've had five desktops and this is my first laptop.
Never used sleep mode on anything - ever. I do appreciate your candor,
    though.

No problem, bro. It takes a lot more than that! This dv5t with Vista is
a different animal from my custom XP Pro desktop. I'll tell you what,
though. The guys on this forum have it right, with regard to the
bloatware on this machine. I totally understand why so many are
doing clean installs. I'll be next.

    How's that for a segue?

We could start a never ending story on here. lol...

I agree though. When you first get the notebook, there is so much useless and pointless software (bloatware) on it. I really don't understand the purpose of having a slingbox introduction video.

Aside from the useless stuff, the pros have more weight. I'm definitely satisfied with the HP notebooks.
