    Default i have 2 questions Finger Reader and defragmation

    ok hi my first question:
    1. is there any finger reader for windows xp ?
    i only found for vista on hp website
    my laptop model is dv6790ej

    2. i installed program called Diskeeper and i defragmate my C:
    and the next morning when i woke up
    i noticed Error : sytem disk not found something like that
    and when i tryied reinstall windows i found out that my
    2 partitions is now 1 and uncollated
    How could it happend ?

    Question 1: Yes, you most certainly can use your fingerprint reader in XP. You need to know the model of fingerprint reader and just google for an XP driver. There is also a large batch of programs for integrating fingerprint reading into XP (for logon). If your original software package came with Verisoft Access Manager (and you have a way of retrieving it) then use it! Its great software and fully compatible with XP.

    So your two partitions (recovery and operating system?) got merged? Please tell me your burned your recover media before installing XP. If not (And by uncollated I'm assuming you mean they're unreadable) its time to call HP for recovery disks for a start.

    well i delete the hp recovry cuz i dont need it waste of space ';p
    i use xp anyway and i hate vista
    and i had C and D each one 125GB
    and it deleted and become 1 HD 250GB undefined ;p
    so i run all setups of xp again
    and my Finger Read model is like on all DV6xxx Serious
    so maybe can u give me link for the finger software cuz i can not find one that working on logon with Xp ;p

    The fingerprint reader would be an AES2501A. I use Verisoft so I don't have a specific link to other software sorry. As a dv6xxx owner who hates XP have you checked out this thread Installing Windows XP on the Intel based dvx500t Series. Someone else may be able to offer an alternative
