Re: What is software manager?
The attached pictures are when I connected to internet:
Also the program is not in the add/remove section. The about section of program says:
Code:About the Software Manager The Software Manager keeps your programs up-to-date with the latest security patches, improvements, and bug fixes. When an update is available, you can: View the updates for your system View update descriptions Download and install updates How does it work? The update notices include the size of the update, and a description of the update. From this list, choose the updates you wish to install. Clicking on an update listing allows you to learn more about the update, or to remove the update notice.

MacroVision is a licensing vehicle. Unless you know exactly what is utilizing MacroVision's licensing processes, you might have some issues.
I do not have this installed, but I do see, hidden deep in the installed programs, not under Add/Remove Programs, a MacroVision SafeCast, which I believe Adobe may use.

Re: What is software manager?
In the pictures I uploaded, at the bottom line it says it is macrovision.
What I found is that it does not find any update (although windows update found for both vista and drivers)!! and also it may only is for digital persona software.
I am looking for a way to uninstall it.
