Re: DV2700t will not run properly run XP
My internal mic is dead. But the external one is almost dead as well. Via Skype can hardly hear anything when very close to to it. I've read quite a few threads, but could not figure out if anybody overcame this problem (I guess this is Conexant with Venice :=(
If I cannot solve it in the next few days - going to send the laptop back to HP, let them have fun with it!

Re: DV2700t will not run properly run XP
Try Conexant SmartAudio 221.Adds a Smart Audio icon in Control Panel for mic enhancement that may help.
http://www.mediafire.com/?dg0cmmkm4y4
Unzip to a folder.Run installer.if it errors use device Manager
From Device Manager, right click "Audio Device on HD",choose Update driver,
No to connect,
Install from a list or specific location,
Don't search I will choose the driver to install,
In the list of common hardware types, scroll down and select Sound, Video, and Game controllers.
Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk".
Next...browse to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".Ignore XP when it complains.
Reboot.
---------
Modem and Audio drivers seem to work together.Try this for modem:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp37501-38000/sp37725.exe

I also notice that you installed Chipset for Mobile ICH7, you have Mobile ICH8.Try updating the Chipset.

Re: DV2700t will not run properly run XP
Thanks for all your help. You are right. With ICH7 Chipset both internal and external mics were dead. With ICH8 Chipset and Conexant SmartAudio 221 I got Smart Audio in the Control Panel and Advanced options enabled for the mic properties.
When set Samrt Audio to Viop options and with mic boost in advanced mic properties, internal mic records some noise and external mic is almost OK (some static and you need to sit close to the laptop).
I am a heavy user of various Viop programs, and using internal mic is out of question for any coherent communications, and external mic is kind of OK but still annoying.
I've returned the laptop to HP and will wait until they resolve the problems with Conexant drivers. BTW, mic has almost the same problems when used with Vista.

Re: DV2700t will not run properly run XP
I have a dv2700 and a friend told me that downgrading Bios will have secondary effects on my laptop, Anyone knows about this?
second of all, HP has removed the File F.13 Bios from their Page.
I mean, yo can see it, but at the downloading time, it says it has been removed.
I noticed that the F.13 Bios is meant For AMD, wouldn't it be a problem? If not, could anyone rapidshare it?
regarding this point
"2) Install Chipset drivers (SP32555) and restart"
XP has no CHipset driver or whatsoever, and the HP Chipset driver is called (sp36881.exe) :/
anmd the point
"6) Install Conexant - SP34386. Ignore Errors."
HP has them as sp37817.exe
"Reboot.
Install Ricon driver." Ricon? is that ""Ricoh Media Card Reader Host Controller Driver"" or
""Ricoh 5-in-1 Card Reader Host Controller and Driver for Microsoft Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit)""
??
there are some other like this ~~
If anyone could rapidshare them, it would be great : 3Last edited by ArKRaveN; 23rd March 2008 at 09:25 AM. Reason: Extra info
