Re: HP 8510P new Bios !!! improves HD 2600
wow.
hmm. can it be that your penryn processor does not need that much power as my t7700 ? sure i know that the new penryns do save some power compared to my old cpu. or is there a new ati bios for the graphics card included in the new bios ? does it allow higher clocks now ?
well, keep on testing... iīm curious how high you can go with your card.
about the modification i spoke of, well you are already using a patched driver. basicly with this driver your card became a professional firegl graphics card. The OpenGL Performance actually has gone "through the roof" compared to the hd 2600 mobility.
check the name of your graphics card. i made the driver install Firegl v 5600 features. havenīt you noticed yet ?

Re: HP 8510P new Bios !!! improves HD 2600
well I did however I thought there there is "some extra hack" to that driver which /may/ cause something or so... anyway from my subjective point of view the GPU works much better I mean the avg FPS are about the same (wichout overclocking) but I meaned, that before I had like 20FPS and then 80FPS so on average it was 50FPS however it's very inconvinient now it's more like 40 - 60 FPS and on average of 50FPS, I think you see my point
- it does not floats that much...

Re: HP 8510P new Bios !!! improves HD 2600
I'm gonna let do 3Dmarks all over the night to make sure it's stable however it seems that 660core/790mem is the top at this voltage... (as schoko said)

Great scores IMO, regardless of whether you can take it any higher or not

Re: HP 8510P new Bios !!! improves HD 2600
Seems like you have a killer machine up there
Makes me test my gfx again... I will do it after applying AS5 on CPU and core, but anyway, just getting rid of some paste and making it thiner along the core dropped my temps by 12C from ~70 to 58C!!! [based on running FEA with COSMOS under Max Performance profile with RMClock under Vista 32 bit].
I can hardly hear my notebook now
Oh yeah

Re: HP 8510P new Bios !!! improves HD 2600
well, that might be a side effect of a "working" driver for you.
actually the direct x part of this driver does not differ from the original cat 8.4. iīve taken a look into the cat 8.4, and did notice only some minor changes between that and the latest 8.453.1 firegl driver. so not much changes there.
what you should test is the actual opengl performance with your card. typically to bench professional opengl capabilities a special program is used, the specviewperf ( version 10) from http://www.spec.org .
typically the results for a mobility hd 2600 look like this :
Code:specviewperf10 -x32 - default clocks - driver ? must have been cat 7.12, i guess Viewset Composite 3dsmax-04 15.05 catia-02 11.56 ensight-03 12.06 maya-02 27.06 proe-04 9.09 sw-01 21.18 tcvis-01 5.33 ugnx-01 3.83 these results are from destiny on win xp32 some month ago.
Code:specviewperf10 -x32 - default clocks - my modded driver 8.453.1 3dsmax-04 : 34.96 catia-02 : 34.22 ensight-03 : 23.91 maya-02 : 108.95 proe-04 : 34.05 sw-01 : 70.82 tcvis-01 : 21.30 ugnx-01 : 18.17 test was run in winxp 64
your notebook actually has turned into a hp 8510w the moment you have installed the driver. if you do not use opengl you wonīt have any problems with the drivers.Code:specviewperf10 -x32- 634mhz/680mhz - my modded driver 8.453.1 3dsmax-04 : 37.28 catia-02 : 35.78 ensight-03 : 26.64 maya-02 : 129.65 proe-04 : 35.21 sw-01 : 76.27 tcvis-01 : 25.21 ugnx-01 : 22.42 test was run in winxp 64
if you like the performance and want to stay with these drivers, you should know that ati releases these workstation drivers about all 4-5 month. so no monthly upgrade for directx, updates for new games... but after all ati tries to produce a stable and good performing driver with these firegldrivers.HP 8510p - C2D T7700 - Ati Hd2600 - 4GB OCZ -XP 64 / Win7 x64

Re: HP 8510P new Bios !!! improves HD 2600
weird thing - as I'm using these "hacked" drivers 1280x800 disappeared. Is it possible to somehow add this resolution as I had it with non-hacked drivers? Now I've these options: 1280x720 or 1280x768 unfortunately neither if it is 16:10 as I need for my native 1680x1050 which equals 16:10. Thank you.
