Shared Video Ram, how to change, and BIOS?
I got a DV2500T.
I upgraded the Drivers of the video card and my shared ram is something ridiculous like 767MB.
How do I lower this? I thought it would be in the bios so i went bios and there are no options WHAT SO EVER in the bios. Just a Hard drive diagnosis and Memory diagnosis.
what did HP do?Last edited by vespoli; 21st September 2007 at 08:39 PM.

Re: Shared Video Ram, how to change, and BIOS?
Are you relying on the Vista 'shared graphics memory' information. If so then there is nothing to worry about since this is just going to be used only when necessary and that portion of RAM is available for other applications when the GPU doesnt require it. Its is not solely dedicated to the graphics card. This is controlled by the graphics driver(turbo cache), so you wont find any option in the BIOS.
As for as the CPU usage is concerned look through the task manager and see what is using up the cpu cycles. It would most likely be a sidebar gadget or an application doing something in the background.Lenovo Thinkpad T400 Intel Core 2 Duo T9400, ATi HD3470/Intel GMA X4500, 160GB Intel 320 SSD/320GB Fujitsu MHZ2320BH G2 5400rpm HDD, 4GB DDR3 1066, 14.1" WXGA+ CCFL, Windows 8 Pro x64

Re: Shared Video Ram, how to change, and BIOS?
i have the nvidia 7150 intergrated. when you look at ur pc details it might say dedicated 64mb. i went into the bios and changed it from 64mb to 128mb. it gives three options 32 mb,64mb and 128mb.
