Re: Order in Production
Did you use the coupon? I see on the web site the dv6500t is more expensive now.. They took away the 50% off the 8400 video card and the free upgrade to 120GB HD disappeared as well. So right there the price went up 90 bucks! I believe the 20% off coupon may have expired today.
If I bought the same system today, it would cost around 1400. I paid 1088 so I feel pretty good about that.

Re: Order in Production
Does it say before 1030AM service? That was a really nice surprise for me since I work second shift. The Fed X guy made me late to work last time he rolled up my street at 145pm with my 1420 and I had to turn back to receive it. This HP FED X overnight by 10:30am service is excellent. I did not pay or ask for this. It sounds like others are getting overnight as well on their systems. This means they are very aware of Dells backorder issues and are trying to strengthen their own cycle time to beat out Dell in customer service. Its working. Dell just dropped 5 percent in the latest consumer satisfaction index.. HP just went up a little. Dell, in spite of spending over 150 million to improve their pathetic customer care/build quality, has just sunk back to their pathetic 2005 low index of 74. This is a huge 5 percent drop and is one of the lowest in the industry.. Not good for Dell. Here is one link to this.. there are tons of articles on google as well: http://www.lockergnome.com/nexus/bla...ing-continues/

Re: Order in Production
Here is my tracking information.. remember, once it leaves INDIANAPOLIS, IN it goes to Memphis Tn. That is the FED X hub and has been since they started in the late sixties I believe. That is where Fed X sorts everything and back out to all parts of the US. If it hits Memphis Tuesday morning you should get it Wed or Thursday at the lastest. If it gets there on Friday like in my case.. you get it monday since they don't deliver on Sat.. they do but HP is not paying that hefty price.
This is my tracking from start to finish: Shipment starts on bottom of page in Shanghai China. The whole time from China to my door is only 5 days.. that includes weekends when they don't deliver. That, is simply amazing.. Look closely at my tracking info.. the turn around times are quick.. Once shipped, it in the air almost constantly until it reaches your local sort facility. It appears on the tracking that its only on the ground in Alaska, and INDIANAPOLIS for a few hours. I am impressed with FED X international shipments. Also I may be off one day since this probably originated across the international date line.. So on the 22 when it shipped, it was probably only the 21th here. So it may be six days.. thats still very good.

Re: Order in Production
Yes that is probably the case if they manage to ship it out on a Mon, or Tue. Seems like these things always come after the weekend. Both my original and replacement system with Dell came on a Monday. I think that may be how they schedule it. That would be amazing if you did get it the same work week. From that distance that would be impressive. Does HP always just ship out Fed X overnight? It appears that everyone is getting this upgrade.. I know I did not pay for it. If it is, those that paid extra for overnight are getting jipped.
