Re: Order in Production
The date that HP gives you for shipping the laptops is padded. They always give themselves extra time to produce the laptop so you get it before or when they tell you. The nice thing about HP too is that when you are ordering it they tell you if they are out of stock and it will take longer to produce and ship to you.
I personally got my laptop a week before the ship date. It was like Christmas day for me!

Looks like its ground service. Fed X says it will be here on Monday by 1030AM..

UPDATE... its in MEMPHIS, TN.. I think I was wrong.. If this comes on Monday before 10:30AM.. that would be overnight before 10:30am service.... So that means free overnight FED X service before 10:30AM.. I am very pleased indeed.

Re: Order in Production
Its already here in Albuquerque at the Fed-X Ssort facility. I wish I could drive down and get it now.. But will have to wait until Monday morning. So far, it appears that HP has a much quicker cycle time then Dell.

Re: Order in Production
My HP is at my local sort facility. FedEx's ETA is Monday. Do you guys think there is any chance they might bring it to me tomorrow instead? Do they even deliver on Saturdays? The Sort facility is pretty close, so I might just end up driving down there tomorrow.

Re: Order in Production
I don't think you can pick it up in person until they try to make the first attempt in delivery. If they fail at the first attempt, you can call and have them hold it for you. Only then can you pick it up in person. Give them a call.. can't hurt. My last Dell was Fed-X as well. I called them to see if they could hold it for me. They said no.. only if the first attempt failed could they do that.
And yes, Fed-X does have Saturday service.. But the sender has to specify that before shipping.. and its expensive. Thats why they probably won't give it to you on Satuday.. they did not get the Sat premium.
As it is, I got free overnight and before 10:30am which costs more.. They also have before 3:30PM service.. that the one Dell used with me. I did not pay or ask for this.. I am a happy camper!!
