Lucky...I ordered my DV6500T one the day the 8400M GS was released and my estimated ship date is also June 20th. Unfortunately, the order status still says it's in production and has not be shipped.

I'm glad I took a pass on the NVidia option. Can't lose a USB port (which I use all the time) to a HDMI port (which I never use).

    Obviously, to each their own.

Prices seemed to have jumped a bit...glad I got mine on the cheap.

Is this true? I thought it was the fingerprint reader which caused a deletion of a USB port.

I want all of those USB ports, as that is the biggest gripe with my current laptop (only 2). *sigh* lol

I was just wondering...why is the 9500t wayyyyy behind in popularity?

Is it size, price? As a laptop someone wouldn't carry around all day, it seems like a good deal.

    Just wondering,

    Clay

Yeah, As far as I know, it's the fingerprint reader that uses up a port, not the nvidia graphics.

Hmmm...on my dv6500t (with fingerprint scanner) I have 3 USB ports. 1 on the right and 2 on the left. If you look at the pic, there is a spot with nothing there for the hdmi port. So I dont think you lose anything by choosing the nvidia option.

If you didn't have the reader, you would have 2 ports on the right. One in back near the power plug, and one towards the front, in between the DVD drive and the ExpressCard slot.

Clay, it is still a new machine, less than a month old (with 8400/8600 card). Wait few more weeks and you'll see it'll be one of the most desired 17" lappies
and they (dv6500t and dv9500t) are both staying to entry the top 15 if you just click on the link below top:
    16. HP Pavilion dv6500t (Core 2 Duo processor, 15" screen, released 2007) 1.1% / 1265
    17. HP Pavilion dv9500t (Core 2 Duo processor, 17" screen, released 2007) 1.0% / 1244

Both, too big, not cheap at all, who needs a 17inch laptop anyway, not to mention 20,1inch ones...

Apparently very many people, judging from how many companies make them and how well they've sold.

Does anyone have any idea what's in store for HP this summer? Any major upgrades or back-to-scholl specials planned?
