Here is an updated list of BIOS releases available for all relatively recent Compaq Presario, HP G-series, and Mini notebooks. All of the BIOS images linked from here are original and unmodified, hosted at HP's very own FTP server.

Please refrain from posting BIOS issues in this thread, unless the issue stems from here due to inaccurate information. If you are encountering a specific problem that pertains to the BIOS, please create a separate thread for it in the appropriate forum section. You will likely have a much better chance at receiving a response in doing so. If you find a BIOS update or would like to make a suggestion or request for this thread, please post here.

Important Information

The BIOS images posted in this thread must be flashed in a Windows environment. Only use the BIOS release that is applicable to your particular notebook model. Do NOT attempt to flash a BIOS image that is not supported or designated for your model. Doing so will render your system unusable! Be sure to carefully read the guidelines displayed by the BIOS update utility to ensure a successful flash.

Legend

These notebooks have an Intel processor (CPU). Do not use a BIOS image meant for AMD notebooks. These notebooks have an AMD processor (CPU). Do not use a BIOS image meant for Intel notebooks.

Pavilion g Series

The g4, g6, and g7 line of HP notebooks are part of the Pavilion family. They are not actually part of the G-series family, despite the apparent similarity in name. Visit the Pavilion BIOS Release thread for updates on these notebooks.

hi..i have a problem on my cq60-211dx laptop...when i plug the adaptor it automatically switch on the power but no display...can someone help me regarding on this..or should i try to upgrade my bios...thanks

Try connecting the notebook to an external monitor and see if something comes up. If something does, change the display settings to re-enable the laptop screen. You can also perform the BIOS update if a newer version fixes a problem regarding the display.
