Re: HP G62 is nothing but problems.
Well it's interesting as I use a HP at work, a Z800, which has been solid as a rock, so maybe it's just the consumer stuff that's flaky. Interesting that you upgraded your hard drive to a seagate, the one in my son's was a toshiba, (his 3rd one when we get it back), so I may do the same, but as I said previously, not impressed with the customer service we've had.

Hi manny3034,
Are you using the recovery media purchased from HP or the discs you made when you first purchased your notebook?

Re: HP G62 is nothing but problems.
Update:
I changed the hard drive to a seagate momentus, but we have now had the second one of those fail in as many months.
Does anyone know of any issues with overheating of the hard drive in this model, as that is all I can think that has caused so many hard drive failures.

Re: HP G62 is nothing but problems.
A couple months back I replaced the Seagate hybrid hard drive in my 2 3/4 year old G62t with a Sandisk SSD, and that made it even faster. The Seagate 500GB hybrid is also working fine relocated to a desktop system. My G62t continues to be a great laptop!
