HP Probook 4530s screen upgrade 900P, 1080P

Good news to 4530s users!
Successfull implementations so far
User Screen Resolution Cable Model BigDonkey LP156WF1(TL)(F3) 1920x1080 646274-001 4530s XU015UT Masso912 LP156WF1(TL)(F3) 1920x1080 646274-001 4530s LH306EA liposuction LP156WF1(TL)(B2) 1920x1080 646274-001 4530s XU015UT saltydog4791 LP156WF1(TL)(F3) 1920x1080 646274-001 4530s XU015UT nikstar LP156WF1(TL)(B2) 1920x1080 646274-001 4530s XU015UT bkmartin ? 1920x1080 ? 4530s XU015UT faithie999 LP156WF1(TL)(B2) 1920x1080 646274-001 4530s XU015UT ogw000 LP156WF1(TL)(B2) 1920x1080 646274-001 4530s XU015UT ironxman99 B156HW01 V.4 1920x1080 646274-001 4530s timohour LP156WF1(TL)(B2) 1920x1080 646274-001 4530s XU015UT
It seems to be possible that 4530s users can upgrade their screen to an 15.6 HD+ or FHD screen. Since HP shipped this model with an 900P screen everybody can take this advantage (even the cheapest models coming with simple HD).
So if your laptop comes with a 1366x768 screen all you have to do is change your screen cable with this one (provides international shipping), or part number 646273-001 from hp part-surfer costs ~67$.
However my idea about using the 4730s cable (part number 646274-001) worked with successful implementations on the tonymacx86 forum. The good think is that this cable is almost 1/3 price on the partsurfer (~19$) and 1/4 of the price on the alinc.com (15$).
So total cost will be 15$ (plus shipping) + ~(100$) for the screen minus the original's screen value(~80$).
Upgrade cost would be only ~40$!!!
I now suggest an RGBLED screen 1080p matte AUO screen part No B156HW01 V.4 only 89.99$!!! One of the best RGB monitors around, you can check anandtech review .
Also confirmed working the LP156WF1(TL)(F3) &(B2) matte screen @ 69$. Its price is great and its colors, white and angles are pretty good.
I someone is interested for 900p screen I would recommend matte LP156WD1(TL)(B1) & (B2) .
However every led with 40-pin left connector screen would work.
Post #2 is a small guide
NOTE: This upgrade is only tested and working on 4530s. A guy from the tonymacx86 forum tested it on 4430s and it is NOT working so far.
I have no intention to advertise any of the sellers I gave links above. However they seem to be trustworthy and very helpful to technical issues.
Little guide for those worrying for too small letters!!!
Sorry for the screenshots being localised

Re: HP Probook 4530s screen upgrade 900P, 1080P
How to?
-Purchase one of the following cables.
646273-001 or 646274-001. 273 is the "official" upgrade cable for the 4530s while 274 is the cable used on the HD+ 4730s. According to liposuction's picture they are identical on looks while huge difference in price (~50$).
-Purchase one screen of your liking HD+ (1600x900) or FHD (1920x1080).
I suggest the LG LP156WF1(TL)(F3) (70$ +shipping) for its greatness. It is also the one tested from all users here. However any led screen with 40pin left connector would do. (laptopscreens.com have some starting from 50$ prior to shipping).
-Unscrew initial bottom cover
-Unscrew every screw you can see (including those under the rubber covers.
-Remove you dvd and the screws that it is hiding.
-Carefully remove your keyboard. The first time needs much force since it has also some adhesive tape.
-Disconnect every connector you see.
-Unscrew every screw you can see.
-Remove carefully your upcover.
-Carefully remove the last screw left to remove your motherboard.
-Now disconnect the display cable.
-Wait for the above parts to come home.
-If everything is home, follow the youtube video on screen changing for the 4530s.
-Put everything back in position.
-Power up your machine. And!!!
hope it helps

Bravo timohour!
I think my username will be in your table soon. What keeps me back is that my 4530s is brand new and I dont want to be brutal so early.
It would also be helpful if you could do a video tutorial of how to change the screen cable.
By the way there is another video out there HP 4530s ProBook 4530s Laptop Screen Replacement Procedure - YouTube which demonstrates screen replacement with removing the hindge covers

Do I need to buy the cable if I want to upgrade from current 900p to 1080p?

Re: HP Probook 4530s screen upgrade 900P, 1080P
Not yet. Sorry to bring that to you but don't have time to deal with Internet connection due to exams. After 16/2 I promise to upload.
No need to upgrade cable if you already have a 900p screen. We use a cable because the 768p isn't compatible with 900p or 1080p.
All you have to do is purchase a 1080p screen and follow the YouTube video.
Don't know if this work for 4520s or not. Sorry I don't have one to test right now. But if there was an original option from HP (900p or 1080p) it will work with the proper cable.HP Probook 4530s | 1080p | i7 2630QM | 8GB@1333MHz| 320GB & 1TB | Win7 64bit | OSX 10.8.3
