It won't change at least for the Dreamcolor display, because of it's 10bit nature.
Z2 - CTO Gold FullHD i7-2620M, 8GB, 256GB SSD 3gen, PMD BD-RE, W7 Ultimate, PMD driver by leshcat / internal GPS WWAN sw mod

If you buy the HD3000 model then can get Optimus functionality using an eGPU. See http://forum.notebookreview.com/gami...ml#post5324240 . Otherwise HP is behind Lenovo/Dell as those companies do have switchable graphics. Dell going one step further and providing a muxed setup allowing a iGPU+dGPU-Optimus or dGPU-only setup, the latter preferred by Linux users.

It is not the sort of thing that can be enabled in a driver update. In order for optimus to work, the display is hooked up to the onboard graphics, and the external graphics output is piped through there. To go from a setup currently using a discrete graphics card to Optimus would require changing what the display is hooked up to. Sad but true...

No, HP does not offer Optimus in any 8560w or 8560p, unfortunately.

As stated, the 15" Elitebooks will not have Optimus and current models, will never have it since it cannot just be enabled via drivers.
