Here is an Owner's Lounge for those of us that took the plunge on the new EliteBook 8460p that came out on March 15.

Re: *HP EliteBook 8460p Owners Lounge!*
Specs of mine are:
Intel® Core™ i7-2620M Processor (2.7 GHz, 4 MB L3 Cache)
14.0-inch diagonal LED-backlit HD+ anti-glare (1600 x 900)
720p HD Webcam
AMD Radeon™ HD 6470M (1 GB gDDR3)
8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 SDRAM (2D)
500 GB 7200 rpm 2.5-inch hard drive
LightScribe DVD+/-RW SuperMulti DL Drive
Intel Centrino Advanced N 6205 802.11a/b/g/n
Says it will be shipped on April 5th, but the rep that I spoke with said to expect it sooner.

Very interesting. I was at the site this morning. I missed the 14" model. This definitely has my attention. I like the express slot and the upgrade bay option.
I look forward to your reviews.

I will post a review once I get it and I will answer any questions that I can once I get the laptop. I am really excited and can't wait to get my hands on it!

I'd really like to know, if the Elitebook 8460p supports Port Multipliers on its E-Sata port and that one of the refering docking station (i.e. Advanced 120W). The question regarding an SSD on a miniPCIe port sounds interesting as well

And does Ubuntu 10.10 work on this machine?

I've had a few questions as well. First of all how that discrete Radeon works with linux and is it possible to use integrated intel 3000 hd gpu (that would be awesome). Also is amd capable of displaying 4 desktops on two monitors (or even better is it possible with integrated gpu).

Re: *HP EliteBook 8460p Owners Lounge!*
The suspense is killing me not hearing actual user experience on this baby since units have been shipping since a week ago, March 15. Allo out there!
I tried to find a support forum on HP.com to monitor issues coming in but have not been successful locating one there or anyplace else. Anyone?

I know Duffin, I was waiting for user reviews to pull the trigger but I gave up on waiting. I guess everyone has to be a pioneer sometime.
Ever since last week on the 16th the computers have said that it will take two weeks to ship so it would seem that no one actually has their hands on one yet other than apparently PCMAG since they have a youtube video already up.
