8740W Benching/Specs Thread

Right:

This thread is for the Posting of Bench Scores and Times/Specs of peoples' machines.

I would like discussion to be done in our owners thread please, i would like this thread to be a clear view of our machines, so people can compare them easily.

We have so much information in snippets, it is very difficult for people to find it.

I will be posting here tests and results, and also tests that people can do with their own computers, to fill in the gaps!

Now.

Software you will need to get to do these tests.

Furmark -> USE WITH CAUTION! (for temps)
Prime95 -> small ffts btw on settings (for temps)
HWINFO32 -> to control the fans for the 'fans forced temps' This will be very loud when they kick in, so do not panic! Set fans to maximum.
RealTemp -> for min max temps of the CPU
GPU-Z -> for GPU temps/information
CPU-Z -> for CPU info

Windows Media Player (11 or 12 please! - for DVD playing)
PowerDVD 10 (if you want to do the bluray test)
3D Mark 06 (for CPU and GPU Scores!)
CineBench R10 32 bit please! (Single/Multi Test)

Ok when you post your scores, you don't need pictures it would get too big if that was the case, just raw text is fine.

I will post a code for people to copy and fill in with their own results.

I have done several tests, and will post them in one big lump. Feel free to add to this.

For battery times, set screen to min brightness, max power savings, but turn sleep/hibernate off

Oh for battery, ensure WWAN/Wireless/BT is OFF for dvd/mp3 test, but wireless on for idle.

For MP3 let the screen go blank btw, dont move the mouse about, because the turning the screen back on draws more power, you don't want it on if you're just listening to tunes!

In the Icrontic blog SpecViewPerf, the SPECViewPerf11 composite graph seems to show a couple numbers which are about 10 pts higher.

Best potential explanation so far is improvements in the beta 260.99 GPU driver, though the 260.99 release notes do not mention these improvements.

ok i've just run a SpecViewperf on 2 different 5000m/DC2/740QM-940XM machines.

Specs are as my previous 5000M test, but one has a 740QM and one has a 940XM
