Express Slot > Type II Slot...??
Type II card slots are being 'phased out' according to Dell and alot of other manufacturers...which presents a bigtime problem for me, since I purchased a Cingular Wireless Sierra 860 Laptop Connect card.
...are there any devices that can allow me to still use the card? I need help here guys

Re: Express Card Slot > Type II Card Slot...?
Supposedly because the new express cards are better technology. Personally, I think more companies have phased it out because it is better business wise (express slots are cheaper - or at least I heard that). You look at the available express cards, and there really isn't that many to choose from.
I don't know when, but there should be a PC card adapter soon. We have a guide in our Dummy articles that gives more information about the different express cards available as well as a link to see what cards have been or are planning on being released.

PCMCIA is on the way out, Dell is correct there . .
express card sound?
As I said in that thread, market adoption of the format is very slow.

Re: Express Slot > Type II Slot...??
It's VERY, VERY sad to say...but I've just finished doing some research and..well....Dell has taken full advantage of the fact that the crossover to Express Slots has been very slow, but they do offer Express cards for EVDO/CDMA (Verizon) and EDGE/UMTS (Cingular) wireless services...
