Need Help With 560M
Hello name is Ralph and Im new to the forums. I recently decided to upgraded my Alienware M15X graphics card from 260M to 560M. Everything was fine until a few months ago where my card started crashing constantly. I noticed that my drivers are not up to date I have the 285.62 version and latest version is 296.10 but every time I've tried updating the driver's I will get this error message saying that it does not recognize my graphics card installed.
Please if anyone knows a helpful link of how to update my drivers or if anyone knows why my card keep crashing please reply to this thread. I've tried everything and really don't have the money right now to send computer to a tech. Help will be greatly appreciated. Ty

This question might be better addressed in the Alienware or graphics forum.

Re: Need Help With 560M
Download the latest drivers from nVidia's website and do a clean installation. If you run into trouble and the installation claims to have not found a supported GPU go into the Device Manager and uninstall the GTX 560M drivers from there and then try the installer again (right click My Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager -> expand Display Adapters -> right click on GPU -> checkmark 'Delete the driver software from this device' -> hit OK -> reboot).
The card itself could be malfunctioning. Try reinstalling the drivers as I mentioned and let us know how it goes.Desktop 13.3" Macbook Air W7 Ultimate, Core i7 2600k, Crucial M4 128GB SSD

Re: Need Help With 560M
Okay I've tried the clean install still gave me the same message. When I tried re-installing the old drivers 285.62 for the Nvidia website it also gave me the same problem. However I found the 285.62 driver file install on my documents already extracted and ran the exe inside the folder and that worked. I'm guessing it worked because it was modded? I dont know I think those are the files that the tech modded to install the driver when I upgraded the cards. Question is how will I do this myself if I need to update drivers?.
