    Just found this HP DV7:

JR.com: HP Pavilion dv7-6165us Entertainment 17.3" Notebook PC in PC Notebook Computers

Comes with A8-3500M + HD 6750M and 9 Cell Battery (Up to 10 hours), the only thing I don't like about it is the Beat Audio gimmick.

I wish they had those with a A8-3510/3530MX in Canada...I think I might wait around for a DV7.

In case people are curious, somebody got their hands on a BestBuy version of an HP dv6z Llano laptop. The discussion (with benchmarks) is in this thread.

So the only difference between A6-3400M and A6-3410MX is the watt usage? If so, is that worth extra $25?

My guess is that the A8-3510MX 45W CPU will be able sustain 2.2Ghz with all 4 cores on the desktop when the IGP is not in use and 2Ghz with 4 cores when gaming and 2.3Ghz with 2 cores when gaming.

Also the Dual Graphics in a HD 6755G2 will score about 20% better than 5700 GPU score in 3DMark Vantage because of the extra TDP.

After reading the link above, can anyone tell me why Lliano is still something to consider buying?

Not for gaming - but for any other usage scenario?

To me, Intel still is superior (maybe a little more expensive, but still superior - sometimes by a long shot...).

    It's for budget gaming/multimedia I guess. E.g. HP's dv6z with the 6620+6750 dual graphics only costs $680.

Also, driver support isn't really there yet. He can't seem to get good drivers on his sytem, and I think that as soon as good drivers are released, then the performance of the IGP and Dual Graphics will improve dramatically.

    Thanks guys.

I guess AMD is still not 'playing' at Intel's level when work is the main/only consideration of the system.

Well it depends what your work programs involve, if it's light like say word processing receptionist work than Llano is still a cheaper option that sports better battery life and lower temps/noise with better IGP for internet videos/light gaming.

But if you're doing serious work you probably making the money to go Intel i7 anyway so don't be cheap.
