What exactly did you expect? Trinity is based on Piledriver, a revision of Bulldozer. It will of course have various tweaks to slightly improve general performance and new instruction sets that greatly speed up specific applications, but it is not a new architecture built from the ground up.

If you did not overclock it, Llano was about half the speed of Sandy or less so it's hardly surprising that stock Trinity does not match Sandy. The unanswered question is how well it will overclock.

Yes exactly, a revision, an *improvement*. Not exactly same performance clock for clock as a 2008 CPU I had in mind . When they said 25% better x86 performance over Llano, I thought that was enough to atleast come close to Sandy Bridge.

Atom_Anti tested his CPU and his benchmarks showed that 4600M was better. Lets hope that its true

The move to the Piledriver x86 cores promises an increase in IPC, leakage reduction, CAC reduction, and increased clockspeeds according to the leaked slides, but the most important change is the increased performance per clock numbers.

Geekbench isn't known for its reliability. We need Cinebench 11.5.

IDK. I've always thought GeekBench was decently accurate. Plus it gives a nice breakdown of individual tests.

BUT... I'll run Cinebench 11.5 when I get back home. I'm leaving for somewhere ATM.

EDIT: Take that back, didn't take but a second to download and run...

    Latitude e6220 i5-2520m = OpenGL: 11.63FPS / CPU: 2.87PTS

    Phenom X4 9750 = OpenGL: 34.01FPS / CPU:2.69PTS

Again... dual vs true quad. Still wins. This doesn't test memory performance though, which is mainly what I was looking for.

Yes of course in performance demand situations my Llano always run at 2.4GHz and GPU at 457MHz.

Looking at the two first scores, it looks like the A10 4600M is worse than your 3550MX. That is very strange considering the 4600M is 2.3-3.2GHz while 3550MX is 2.0-2.7GHz. Not only have AMD promised us 25% CPU performance over the Llano, but this 4600M runs 500MHz faster than your CPU and should score more. But I don`t know if this Geekbench is reliable though.

    Integer - Processor integer performance
    3550MX 5291
    4600M 4603

Floating Point - Processor floating point performance
    3550MX 6221
    4600M 6169
This is more like what I have expected, piledriver cores are slower than husky cores. Probably passmark A10-4600M results are fake, but not sure how could someone load up bigger numbers to the database than the real is.

    Guys,

At Dell's website I have found a brand new A05 bios for Vostro 3555.
In the past there were only two bioses; A03 for the first revision of Llano-s, A04 for the second revision Llanos, A05 for what?
Another sign Trinity APUs are compatible with Llano laptops, at least with Dell.

Not to be a skeptic Atom, but it's very possible it's just an update, and not the new chips.

Support documents are already up for the B485/G485/585. They are in Chinese. Don't know what they say. Only some basic parts are named in English.
