ASUS G60VX processor upgrade?

hey guys...i just bought Asus g60vx and was wondering....if I want to upgrade the CPU and consider price to performance ratio...is P9500 is the best one to get or some T-series processor (T9900) ? Also will switching CPU void my warranty?

I searched but most of the threads were old and the new CPU prices are not taken into account. is there a way to tell how much gameplay improvement i can get by switching the CPU while playing WoW and other RTS games.

Just curious to why you didn't buy a laptop with a better processor if you thought you needed it?

And yes you will void the warranty if you change the processor.

As far as i know , for the best buy version , X9100 is the best CPU u can use... problem is that TDP is 44W.. now there's the T9900 which has same stock speed(3.06GHz) but 35W TDP which is ok as it runs cooler and overclocks better... if u want a P series processor , P9700 is the best (2.88Ghz) but IMO , both series use same power so get T9900... u can get it cheap on hp spare parts store...

Depends on the game. Some games you won't notice anything at all. Others, you may notice a substantial difference. A big question is... what processor do you have now?

i am mainly concerned with WoW FPS and then other strategy games.

I don't think it will make a huge difference usually in WoW. I play using a T7200 and a 7900 Go GS, and I get decent FPS almost all the time. The only times I have issues are occasionally in very heavy 10-man AoE situations (like Onyxia whelps), and in 25-man raiding. Of course, if you run a lot of 25-man raiding, then it might make a much bigger difference.

Strategy games, well, again, depends on the game.

P9700 has TDP of 28W

but still that doesn't make a difference... u can undervolt a T9900 and trust me the TDP difference with P9700 will hardly be any different... ask K-Tron on the forum... he did research on this TDP thing of Intel and found P and T series processors to be using very similar TDP's and it was a marketing stratergy byt intel to earn more...

Well WOW runs just fine on the 2.13 since the video card takes care of most of the performance and since WOW does support Multiprocessing its using both cores to boot. I really do not think you need to update that cpu at all imo.
